| It never stops with you. You continue your supefulous attacks on your president. Va is a blue state along with NC. You seem to think just because you hate Obama the rest of us should. You have offered no solutions just endless inane articles, postings and threads denigrating a man who has re-written American politics.

| I'm noticing so far the Lib response is not actually a response at all. Seriously. No mention of the topic at hand. The closest was Mal who claims that VA and NC are "blue states". Isn't VA about to elect a Republican governor? How blue is that?

VA's governor being republican really isn't that big of a deal.
The dichotomy between northern and southern VA forces almost all governors to govern pragmatically, no matter what party is in charge.

*"I was going to vote for John McCain but it terrified me that if anything happened to him we would have this totally ignorant woman as president. So I voted for Obama as the lesser of two evils," said the 77-year-old, as she half-watched the news on a television larger than almost anything else in her living room."
*History favours McDonnell. Since the election of Jimmy Carter as president in 1976, Virginians have chosen a governor from the opposing party to the one in the White House.
*Larry Sabato, a University of Virginia political scientist, says the image of the candidates has played an important role. "The Republican candidate is smooth, highly articulate, looks good on TV, has a beautiful family. The Democrat is inarticulate and is as poor a speaker as I've ever encountered in high-level politics. He has a rural twang. He just doesn't project the image that Virginians would like in a governor," he said.
*"It's all explained by turnout," said Sabato. "Last year Virginia, along with almost all the other states, had record turnouts. Virginia's turnout was 3.7 million, which broke all records … this year, I'll be surprised if the turnout hits 2.5 million. So that means well over a million people aren't going to show up on election day. Who are they? They are overwhelmingly Democrats. They are minorities, the young voters, all these people who came to Obama last year, they're not showing up.
"I don't think Democrats are disillusioned, they're just not energised. They came out for the big one – for the presidency. This is a question of Republicans being energised. They are angry about everything – the stimulus, the healthcare proposals, cap and trade, you name it."
But Sabato warned that it would be a mistake for the Republicans to interpret a victory in Virginia as a sign of national revival, or for McDonnell to see his election as an endorsement of social conservatism. "They will have years in the wilderness at the national level," he said. "McDonnell has all but repudiated his own past. I'll bet you any amount of money he will not touch social issues in his four-year term. He will self-immolate if he does."
____________________________________________________________________
Sounds like the pending result might well have more to do with the candidates and local matters than some repudiation of Obama.
I particularly liked the comments from the woman who would have voted for McCain but didn't because she thought Palin as POTUS was too scary a thought. Speaks volumes for that selection, and says nothing about her vote for governor.
Time will tell.

I dont think he's the one with the problem here, Mal. This story is very pertinent to US politics and how the American people, who have just realized that they have elected a dictator-wannabe, are about to soundly reject both Obama and his ultra-liberal Democrat allies.
You guys are so drunk with power that any threat to it, including threads like this one, cause a huge psychological reaction. It's funny, how you recoil from Thelightoftruth!

Virginia changes governors every two years, and they work for citizens of the state, not the White House, or the RNC . Where Virginia has its power is in the senate. I hope you don't think the outcome of this state governors race will be a reflection of the upcoming congressional mid-terms?
Because it won't...![[allamerican]](/forums/themes/default/allamerican.gif)

I have NO DOUBT or lib friends are polishing up the phrase,,,,,,," That race doesn't matter, it's irrelevant".
I expect to hear it quite often over the next few years. Some would call it "denial", I would call it "rabid libs" heading for the trash heap of history.

Obama is the greatest campaign rally the Republicans have had since Jimmy Carter.

We're just telling you that the game is up, and Obama is the loser. This is merely a window to the downfall that Obama and the other Dems are going to experience over the next three years.
