The artist we all have known as Snoop Dogg, has officially announced his new moniker, Snoop Lion, along with the upcoming release of his first Reggae album, Reincarnated.



Snoop detailed the unexpected spiritual journey that incited his latest evolution. "I had no plans on going to Jamaica, making a Reggae record or nothing," he explained. "The spirit called me...it told me to find something that's connected towards the Bob Marley spirit because I always thought I was Bob Marley reincarnated. It drew me to Jamaica."

Sure, Snoop Lion; why not? Will take some getting used to (any more than Snoop Dogg?) but let's respect the man's choice to take the name - like Muhammad Ali and so many others - these are decisions and names that reflect a new direction and a deep change.

As to faith? It's a place I always tread with respect and acceptance for the choice that a person takes to find their light and their spirit.


A celebrity is a person with the same frailties, difficulties (minus cash flow problems) and they just like anyone else will undergo experiences that makes them question themselves, exam their priorities and shift their journey be it how they present themselves to the outside world or how they present themselves to themselves.

Be circumspect around those we think we know so well - we don't know them at all.

I do understand where you come from with this speculation but it's not quite that simple and Snoop Lion will if he feels that he wants to, reveal that which is deeply private to him.
