I got a raise last week and I'm pissed.

I was given a $10k raise last week after another above average review. ok fine.

But my last raise was over $20k.....



what's the going rate for a raise these days?

Just a guess but you're probably maxing out the wage rate for your position. Best way to get a big raise is to find another job with a higher pay grade and more responsibility.

More responsibility? no thank you.

I've been think about working for myself for a while now. Work full time and double the pay or work half the time and make the same money as I make now. But it's about about quality of life.

More money than I make now? what's the point?

Then he would fire me Tik. Not give me another raise. I'm only 1 of 2 people that got a raise this year btw.

Out of the $10,000/yr (gross) raise I just got, take home raise/yr (net) is ~$5650


43.5% tax......
