Trump needed to scrap the Iran Deal because Israel had given him his orders. Trump announces his intention to pull out of deal. The rest of the world disagrees. Trump therefore needs a trumped up "2003-Iraq-WMD excuse" to justify his next move. Israel suddenly discovers secret files....

Sound family anybody?

Get ready for a herd of US posters to trample over Perspectives with anti-Iran spittle.

Doesn't Israel have an illegal nuclear program too?

Oh, but that doesn't count. The whole WMD thing in the Middle East is to keep such weapons out of the region - that is the justification used by the West, but Washington, London and the rest pretend that Israel, in the heart of the region, doesn't have WMD.

Nobody demands to inspect Israel's WMD sites; where it keeps it nuclear, chemical and biological weaponry and where it is developed.

Hypocrisy at its most refined

Cheers

PS: Before one of our Band of Merry Israel Supporters pipes in, Israel's nuclear weaponry is not "illegal" because it doesn't officially exist and they didn't sign the NNPP.

Entering the "no spittle zone." ..... :)

Some thoughts here.....

A nuclear weapon. Have we forgotten what it is, and what it represents? Unleashing the atom. Hiroshima and Nagasaki times 100. The obliteration of humanity, plain and simple. Violent human death by the hundreds of millions in the flash of a few seconds.

Even when the loopy John Brennan was head of the CIA a few years back, even he had to acknowledge that Iran is one of the most dangerous terrorist command centers in the world. Today. Twenty years ago. Since 1979. The Mullahs in Iran hate the west, and all it stands for. Not just Israel, the west. There is a continuous flow of money and funds for Hezbollah and Hamas funded armaments flowing daily from Tehran. Southern Lebanon is now chock-a-block with deadly rockets and missiles. Unlike the Russia of Nikita Kruschev and Brezhnev, the Iranian Mullahs of today reject the idea of "mutually assured destruction (MAD)." Who cares if "we die" in a nuclear exchange. It doesn't matter in the great scheme of things. We have our religion. Getting 19 young kids to fly into New York skyscrapers is not hard to do when you promise them a glorious after life. We obviously haven't learned much from that incident.

So, if having Iran develop a nuclear capability doesn't frighten you, how about we spread the nuclear bomb to everyone? Why should we just limit them to western democracies? (And yes, Israel is also considered a real democracy) Why not give the bomb to Sierra Leone, or Uruguay? Or, how about that nut job in the Philippines? Point: We've lost all common sense when it comes to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Iran? The Mullahs? These people? It doesn't scare the bejeezers out of you that Iran is in possession of the most powerful destructive force on earth?

Also last I checked, we aren't a democracy. If we were, Hillary would have been president. So what's this all about western democracies?

Pompeo is taking the line that Netanyahu doesn't dare take in public because there is no evidence that Iran has lied under the deal or is violating its terms in any way. This is the judgement of the inspectors who have been carrying out the most stringent examination of Iran's facilities ever authorized by a non-proliferation treaty and it is the conclusion of the US State Dept and Dept. of Defense as well as all the signatory nations. Trump and Netanyahu are trying to undermine the agreement by innuendo and false statements.

The deal was signed with Obama, not the US. It should be voided immediately.

If the deal was signed by Obama it isn't binding on the USA because Obama is not a US citizen and so he was never president. That's good news.

The problem with Pompeo's statement is he followed the original WH statement which had to be corrected. Yes, iran lied about their program ... in 2003. It was that program that the current agreement shut down and which on-site inspectors continue to say that Iran is following and not cheating. Even the Trump DoD under Mattis has said it is a strict control regime.

Netanyhu presented nothing new. The program he spoke about is over 10 years old. He even said it was shut down over 10 years ago. He is desperate to have the US take out Iran for him that he will try anything.

As pointed out, the only nuclear power in the ME is Israel and no one bats an eye at that. The only country in the ME that will get a nuclear weapon in the next 15-20 years is Israel, that is unless Trump kills the current agreement and allows Iran to restart their program.

It should also be pointed out that Israel has bombed Iranian forces in Syria. Iran has not bombed Israel.
