Yeah, being the cynical person that I am somehow I don't think this has a damned thing to do with how blacks are treated in America. This guy lost his job to Blaine freaking Gabbert. Not only did he lose the job, when the new coach took over running a system that is essentially ideal for his style of play Colin could not win the job back.

Colin wanted out of SanFran before this season but nobody wanted to give up what Sanfran wanted for him. This year he gets paid no matter what but next year they can drop him and the hit is almost nothing comparatively. The thing is, Colin wants to play so he wants SanFran to cut him so he can play elsewhere and as things stand, he will not be playing for the 49ers. Heck, he might be their 4th QB based on performance.

I think this was a ploy to get off the team and still keep his money. If he just up and left the team could probably sue for some of the 11.9 million base salary they still owe him this year. If the team kicks him off they won't have any grounds to sue.
People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would do them harm.

Not me. I think the qb situation is pretty solid and reviving Kaps career would take way from the plan. I think Bradford will go down in the first six games and Wentz will be starting by mid season. They need to keep their eyes open for that mid season veteran that will be available after the season gets under way.
Maybe if Kap gets cut its worth it, but definitely not in any trade.
I was talking if he was cut. Take him with a back-up salary. I don't think the Eagles will be that anxious to throw Wentz out there, especially since he has gotten no reps most of the pre-season.
In that case, I think it could work. But if that is the case the season is done already.

Another thing, they're taking all the fun out of the NFL. One side supports him, the other side opposes him.

The players want to entertain the fans on the field and they're not allowed to.

It's all BS. Now the national anthem is racist.

Kap has a right to make a point. You don't have to agree with him, that's your right.
So true, but I do suspect that not many fantasy football teams will chose Kaepernick this year as their starter much less a backup. He screwed himself in that regard.
They wont pick him because he sucks, not because he didnt stand for the national anthem.

If Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady didnt stand for the anthem they would still be one of the first guys picked in a lot fantasy drafts.
Ever notice the only 2 people Trump refuses to speak ill of are Stormy Daniels and Vladimir Putin?

Kaepernick’s protest is as American as that flag

We have a right and responsibility to fight against our history of oppression

http://theundefeated.com/features/kaepernicks-protest-is-as-american-as-that-flag/

I am just as much an American as I am a Foxworth.

My son and his future sons will be as much Foxworths and Americans as I am. And my father is and his father was and so on. But my bloodline in this nation can be traced back to before America was even a country — when my ancestors were neither American nor Foxworths.

I possess pride and anger in both titles. I, like most black Americans, most likely carry the last name of a family who once owned us as property. A family who attempted to beat, rape, and hang the humanity out of all of us. In some ways they succeeded, but over centuries we survived and adapted, as did this country. Because of that history, my last name and this flag represent different things to me and many black people than it may represent to others.

I stand during the national anthem, for the same reason I haven’t changed my last name, for the same reason the highest compliment I’ve ever received is “you a real a– n—–,” because it’s mine now. Thanks to the will of many people and the willingness of people in power – many of them white – to take unpopular stands and make sacrifices, the words, names and images that symbolized our oppression now belong to me.

Make him stand. The NBA has a rule that everybody get off their asses and stand for the anthem. And they do.

The problem is that the NFL wont make a rule because the NFL is politically correct.

This incident is the result of the NFL practicing political correctness with things like their stupid pretty in pink displays every year for a month. The NFL deserves this. What goes around, comes around. If the NFL falls like Europe did because both lacked the balls to fight political correctness but instead embraced it, then the league has nobody to blame but themselves.

I have always been amused by how threatened you are by Breast Cancer Awareness.

So, the land of freedom means forced to stand for the National Anthem.

Bet you can't justify those two in one statement. ;)

The NBA is the only league of the 4 major sports that now requires players to stands for the anthem. That just went into effect recently after Dwayne Wade refused to stand for the Canadian National Anthem in a game against the Raptors. Maybe the Kap incident will get the NFL to follow suite. The NHL and MLB as well.

It's his Right and its a choice I would not make. I believe that there are ways to show respect for the lives that sacrificed everything for freedom and yet still represent his message.

Heroes gave so much for our freedoms. A segment of those Americans were denied the dignity of full and equal rights when they came home from the war to secure our freedoms.

Not to acknowledge that is disrespectful to the those heroes that sacrificed so much (some all) but were denied equal rights here at home after securing yours.
