The Republican National Committee had high hopes that Donald J. Trump would deliver a compassionate and measured speech about immigration on Wednesday, and prepared to lavish praise on the candidate on the party’s Twitter account.
So when Mr. Trump instead offered a fiery denunciation of migrant criminals and suggested deporting Hillary Clinton, Reince Priebus, the party chairman, signaled that aides should scrap the plan, and the committee made no statement at all.
The evening tore a painful new wound in Mr. Trump’s relationship with the Republican National Committee, imperiling his most important remaining political alliance.

Trump is billions in debt, he has one building on the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan that has an outstanding loan of $950 million owed to the Bank of China and Goldman Sachs, and that's just one example. He owes numerous banks, including the bank of China, and the Deutsches bank, hundreds of millions each. And you think Trump is out of the control of Wall Street banks and multinational corporations.

There is no place for compassion in immigration policy.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

I disagree. One has to carefully screen the people one lets into any country.
After that, compassion should be adopted where necessary.

This lack of compassion in its immigration system is what has allowed Japan a far superior getting system than France

You are suggesting that up until now US immigrations procedures and laws have not carefully screened immigrant applications? Who would have been responsible for our lack of immigration policies? Obama? Obama could have done a better job at this? And because he did not now we have both Clinton and Trump both claiming that radical changes have to be made for the well being of our citizens?

At this point, supporters aren't listening to the party heads. What they think about Trump is irrelevant. The party failed to stop him then and have a negative chance to stop him now. The left can keep on fantasizing and whining.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

I don't agree. I do recall my son telling me when first began working on his master's law degree that one of his jobs was to screen and approve immigrant applications for the State of California. He would find questionable applications, reject them only to have his supervisor tell him to approve them. Everyone application was approved regards. That was last year so for me the Obama administration has turned a blind eye to effective immigration screening. I suspect that Trump knows this and this is why he is taking a hard line on immigrations and well he should be.

No way to know about the supervisor but the system itself appears to be corrupted. Trump swears to fix that problem.
