Obese patients and smokers banned from routine surgery in 'most severe ever' rationing in the NHS

We all know that the full negative effects of the "Affordable" Health Care Act are not even close to being in full swing, yet, our healthcare system in the USA is ALREADY a disaster...

Well, our friends in the UK are now having to implement "severe rationing"

Time to repeal & replace - it's th right thing to do...
Republicans sign checks on the front, democrats sign them on the back…True story!

I fail to see why this is a negative.

I fail to see why this is a negative.
Because it is an excuse for further rationing of socialized healthcare.

Obamacare has nothing whatsoever to do with the NHS nor does it resemble the British model for healthcare in any way.

Incidentally, there is no move in Britain to repeal NHS and NHS is generally approved of by the British public. Certainly, they have no desire to go to an American-style system that conservatives here like so much.

Finally, we already had rationing before Obamacare. ALL health systems have rationing. The only questions are who does it and how much. In American health care, rationing has generally been handled by the for-profit health insurance industry.

Speaking as not really a conservative, but absolutely small/no government - I will say this:

American healthcare in many ways is more socialized then it is in Britain, but it is selective on who receives it.

I am not happy with it, and british that support NHS are clueless.

Healthcare needs to be 100% privatized, and politicians need to concentrate on other important s**t - like shrimp treadmills and hellfire missile targets.

You always need to see the positive out of the negative. Imagine if we had this rule stateside; trigglypuff would either die or lose weight and possibly become attractive enough XXXXXXX and calm her nerves. If this country had gone communist under Sanders, at least the obese feminists would go on a diet during the bread shortages.

Don't worry about what is best for other people - otherwise you become "them".

The American system is 150% more expensive per person. It's not clear which is best for the health of richer people, but the NHS provides universal heakthcare coverage with good quality at a fraction of the cost. In my ezperience the NHS is maasively superior to the US system and it is far cheaper.

The US system is a big winner for marketing and legal departments though, with tens of billions of healthcare dollars flushed into them instead of saving lives.

Your stats are apples to Volkswagens comrade.

You cannot compare a system that is rationed - to one that isn't.

Damn!!! Kinda short notice isn't it? The least they could do is give a guy a heads up so he has time to go on the patch and start a diet.

False.

Markets respond with more supply, governments receive and allocated an budget and ration accordingly.

Clearly Two a.m.'s comments are over both of your heads.

Hey, it's no crime to admit that you can't follow it. Everyone rises to the level they can. Don't be embarrassed.

Here - have a ball to play with instead.
