One wonders if Republican leaders have begun to realize that they may have hitched their fate and the fate of their party to a man with a disordered personality. We can leave it to the professionals to determine exactly what to call it. Suffice to say that Donald Trump’s response to the assorted speakers at the Democratic National Convention has not been rational. Why denigrate the parents of a soldier who died serving his country in Iraq? And why keep it going for four days? Why assail the record of a decorated general who commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan? Why make fun of the stature of a popular former mayor of New York? Surely Trump must know that at any convention, including his own, people get up and criticize the opposition party’s nominee. They get their shots in, just as your party got its shots in. And then you move on to the next phase of the campaign. You don’t take a crack at every single person who criticized you. And you especially don’t pick fights that you can’t possibly win, such as against a grieving Gold Star mother or a general. It’s simply not in your interest to do so. The fact that Trump could not help himself, that he clearly did, as he said, want to “hit” everyone who spoke against him at the Democratic convention, suggests that there really is something wrong with the man. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/there-is-something-very-wrong-with-donald-trump/2016/08/01/73809c72-57fe-11e6-831d-0324760ca856_story.html?utm_term=.60440f859bcc |

Anyone who still believes that Donald Trump is in any way, shape or form mentally fit for the presidency simply does not wish to see otherwise and nothing he can do could further demonstrate his psychological instability than what he has already done. The man could literally wear a sign around his neck with "I'm completely bonkers!" smeared on it in his own feces and it wouldn't matter. One cannot see what one does not want to see. |

Egomaniac thinking he can do what he wants. The Chinese have much historic warlord adventure from these types. Still better examples are the Africans walk into letting maddogs run the trick pony show. |

I've given dozens of examples. Trump constantly says inappropriate, vindictive, bizarre things and demonstrates extremely poor impulse control. He does this even in situations where it hurts his interests to do so because he does not possess the ability to control himself. His ego borders on delusion. Virtually every statement that comes out of the man's mouth has him talking about how he's the best at this or that, how he knows more than everyone else, etc. This is not confidence. It is highly abnormal behavior. |

I didn't ask for your analysis - I asked for a specific example that proves he in mentality unfit to be president of the United States. |

Do I have to go through the litany? Attacking gold-star families, talking about his penis at a debate, openly cursing during campaign events, going chaotically through campaign managers, saying he knows more about the military than generals do, insulting POWs as not being heroes because "I like people who didn't get caught", making public comments about his judge's Mexican heritage, mocking the disabled in public, making up stories out of thin air about thousands celebrating on 9/11, talking about Megyn Kelly's period, saying how he'd like to marry his own daughter, saying Obama founded ISIS and that they honor him, failure to pay staffers or contractors, saying in public that a foreign government should hack his opponent's email, complimenting dictatorial enemies of the United States, ridiculously grandiose language in describing himself and his accomplishments as always being the best in virtually every area, saying that employing people was a sacrifice on par with losing a child in war. One or two of these things might be dismissed. We've all said or done something dumb or weird from time to time. It happens. But Trump has displayed a crystal clear pattern of behavior that ranges from erratic to bizarre. These aren't gaffes or stupid moments. They are who Donald Trump is as a human being. The problem is so bad that even many of his supporters have noticed it. Some have decided to rationalize it away as something that will fade when he gets to the White House or as braggadocio for effect which he doesn't really mean. Others, like Demagogue, have openly speculated that maybe he's actually trying to lose. Others conservatives I know have said similar things. The point is that even many of the people voting for him have noticed something is terribly wrong with the man. They are just finding ways to rationalize it as something other than what it is - namely, the ravings of a hot-tempered, delusional egomaniac with virtually zero impulse control. |

Trump is flamboyant certainly. I am not sure how this disqualifies him though. and why is the left obsessed with speech these days? Edited by estonianman, Sep 10 2016, 09:25 PM.
