What's next for Chris Christie the fabled governor and near presidential VP candidate one must wonder? Perhaps a night manager at a McDonald's, or a laundromat? Only one thing's for sure, Christie's officially a political liability now - so Trump will dump him.
He'll have an office in a large NYC law firm where he'll make a million a year showing up once a week for a few hours and pretending to look busy. I was going to say that he probably wishes he finished that tunnel but I expect they'll hire a limo for him anyway. If the traffic's heavy they'll send the helicopter.
It will be interesting to see if your prediction comes true. What law firm or investment bank would want his name on their letterhead? Christie gambled on a presidential pardon from Trump. Looks like it ain't happening. Fatso will be setting out the beach chairs at some swim club in Rio de Janeiro before Clinton's inauguration. That's my prediction.
He doesn't need a pardon. He wasn't charged with anything. And as long as Corzine and McGreevey aren't wearing orange jumpers, Gov Fatso has little to worry about.
Even Florio thrown out for his tax increases after one term ended up on one of Trump's Board of Directors. Wonder who he's supporting?
Governor Huge has a couple of court dates coming up in which the testimony of his closest aides in their trial is going to be used against him. The two fall guys just convicted could be looking at twenty years. That's a strong incentive to cooperate for a lighter sentence. His Corpulence is about to learn a bitter lesson: you meet the same people on the way down that you met on the way up.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) wasn't actually on trial in the Bridgegate case, which ended Friday with the conviction of two of Christie's former top aides. But he'll be hit with a penalty regardless: The former presidential candidate is now and forever officially tainted with that traffic-jammed week on the George Washington Bridge.

And the conviction of Bill Baroni and Bridget Kelly for their roles in closing lanes on one of the world's busiest bridges for five days in 2013 to punish a local mayor will cloud whatever Christie's already-gloomy political future holds.

Hopefully he will just slink away.
Not to point out the elephant in the room or anything but...

Slink:
1: to go or move stealthily or furtively (as in fear or shame) : steal
2: to move in a sinuous provocative manner

Sorry, it's not POSSIBLE for Christie to slink anywhere.
Yeah... you're right about that.
Stomp away?

Better?

You're really not getting this, are you? A complaint by a political activist in municipal court??? Bit of a reach there, don't ya think? There've been 3 separate investigations on this by people who actually investigate things. None have found that Christie knew the lanes would be closed. Unless you've got something else, I think we can close this. Christie will serve out his term, pull some no show job in the city and talk politics with Trump on some cable tv show. And the 2 convictions of his aides will be thrown out on appeal.

I defer to your superior knowledge of the situation. Do you think he will run for governor of the Garden State again?

Constitutionally, he is limited to (2) consecutive terms. Ergo, he can't run in 2017 but could run again at some later date. I think it unlikely that he runs again.

If I remember correctly, an elderly woman died b/c EMS couldn't get to her. Throw his fat a$$ in jail already...
The elderly lady was old, much like Ma Barker is old, she died because she was old.
I see you're making excuses for Christie shutting down the bridge. Had it been a Democrat who closed the bridge, would you feel the same way? You don't have to answer b/c we all know the answer :nana: :booboo: :nana:
Ironic however that Fat Bastard will become the Attorney General.

Not true. Christie stood with Trump when big name party members refused. Christie will have a fine future with the Trump administration.

The Republican Party has achieved a stunning victory because it has become the party of the (white) working class, a huge plurality of voters. Trump made two major promises and a couple of minor ones. The first, cloaked in the language of illegal immigration and political correctness amounts to thinly disguised racism. This one is going to be hard to deliver on because of the demographic shift. He may manage to deport millions of people and at least start construction on that big, beautiful wall but there really isn't much substance to deliver with.

The second big promise is to raise wages for his base of white guys with no college degree. His plan comes down to protectionism and most economists agree that it won't bring back the factory jobs that left a generation ago. He may go populist with a minimum wage increase, which will effect workers above that level as well and he will figure out an appealing package of construction works.

His big problem is that his tax cuts aren't going to produce the spectacular growth he thinks will pay for them. They never have. Add in his defense and veterans' promises and he will balloon the deficit worse than Reagan did. Dumping ACA isn't going to help; it will make the situation worse. If he can figure a way out of this bind, I'll vote for him myself in 2020.
