As doubts continue to linger over the efficacy of Obamacare, Colorado voters will decide whether they want to create the nation's first functioning single-payer system on Tuesday. Formally named the "Colorado Creation of ColoradoCare System Initiative" (Amendment 69 for short), the constitutional amendment aims to replace current insurance regulations with a government program that pays for all healthcare costs. According to CNBC's Thursday report, the measure, if passed, would be funded through a 10 percent state and payroll tax. Employers would pay two-thirds of costs, and employees would pay the remaining third. The poor and/or unemployed, meanwhile, would be exempt from the tax while retaining coverage for hospitalization, prescription drug costs, and more. http://www.weeklystandard.com/colorado-voters-face-single-payer-healthcare-on-election-day/article/2005287 |

This sounds like a brave experiment in healthcare, but the clinical trials may leave the guinea pigs dead if it doesn't work......

Doesn't matter. Trump is going to kill Obamacare once and for all. Good thing I get it from my employer |

Yeah, fair enough. We might as well shorten our misery by praying for a second bubonic plague to take us all out. |

No. He will strip the whole ACA (including the Pre-Existing Condition provision) the same way he strips a $1,000 hooker who arrives to his Penthouse at Trump Towers. But hey, maybe it will build momentum for a Single-Payer solution (like Bernie and anti-insurance industry Progressives proposed all along) 150 years from now, after the new KKK Supreme Court loses its grip on power, and half of America's civilian population dies as collateral casualties of perpetual interracial street wars. Luckily for baby boomers and Arizonan snow-birds, they have nothing to worry about in this respect. They'll remain on the public dole. |
