https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/11/10/hillary-clinton-lost-bernie-sanders-could-have-won/ Donald Trump’s stunning victory is less surprising when we remember a simple fact: Hillary Clinton is a deeply unpopular politician. She won a hotly contested primary victory against a uniquely popular candidate, Sen. Bernie Sanders. In her place, could he have beaten Trump? That Clinton has unusually high unfavorables has been true for decades. Indeed, it has been a steady fact of her political life. She has annually ranked among the least-liked politicians on the national stage since she was the first lady. In recent years, her low favorability rating was matched only by that of her opponent, animated hate Muppet Donald Trump. In contrast, Sanders enjoys very high popularity, ranking as the most popular senator for two years in a row. Nationally, his favorability rating is more than 10 points higher than Clinton’s, and his unfavorability rating is more than 15 points lower. This popularity would have been a real asset on the campaign trail. |

Doesn't matter - Sanders would have ridden the wave of populism that took Trump into office - but would have been blocked by the majority of Americans that do not want to be taxed. |

The election is over. Even Hillary Clinton has taken a bow and left the stage. Yet somehow, the Sanders Butthurt Train chugs on. |

Hello, Two a.m.! You are welcome to no longer post any response about this year's elections. Some of us are interested. I will say this: The Democratic Party nominated the wrong candidate. Absolutely the wrong candidate. Hillary Clinton was a disaster. And she earned her loss. |

Bernie was unwilling to prosecute Hillary for her email fiasco, so Trump did. Bernie would have been a more formidable opponent and he would have received my vote if say Jeb had been the nominee. |

Most of the areas that will be inundated are coastal areas such as SF or NYC, i.e., solid blue strongholds. The word will be a better place. Tarant county will be just fine. |

There's always going to be some Monday morning quarterbacking. Democrats could have put forth any number of candidates that could have beat Trump like a rented mule. I told you once that you guy's were gonna fu@k around and elect this douche bag. I didn't know at the time how right I was. Bernie-bots have as much to bitch about as you do, and we've seen you do your share since Tuesday, so cut them a little slack. |

Yeah, but given the grand political chasm between Bernie-Bots and Trumpies, I'd say they have a lot more problems than Hillary to bitch about now. amirite? Edited by ringotuna, Nov 11 2016, 08:18 AM.

What matters now is how President Trump performs as President, not as candidate Trump. |
