In 2016, men having male friends is taking as proof of male homosexuality. It's irrelevent.

Look at Sparta.. That was a hyper-masculine society and married men were permitted to have male lovers on the side. The wives didn't envy it.
In 2016, having a male lover is what your wife accuses you of when you have a night out with the boys!
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Strange. Ladies are permitted to have girls' nights out all the time, and the husband is expected to sit home alone and just crack open a beer in front of the TV. :dunno:

Trump hasn't presented himself as a moral leader of America they way the old religious right thought was so important. He got the Evangelical vote for non-theological reasons. Trump's pitch has been that he is a skilled executive who can solve serious social and economic problems. I think he will avoid social conservative screaming matchers and concentrate on places where he can achieve real victories.

This sort of proves a point.
The problem that the Republicans have had with Obama is less about policy and more about personality. It was more of that same thing when it came to Hillary Clinton.
Put up the right personality and they will go along with all of the things they formerly raged over.
Suckers.

Maybe they will be looking around themselves in a few years and wonder just what happened?
I hope so.
Trump might well be a Trojan horse.

Religious Right Believes Donald Trump Will Deliver on His Promises

Trump got 81% of the evangelical vote, doing better than McCain or Romney. I've seen posts from my evangelical friends on Facebook that read along the lines of "with Trump we'll have prayer back in schools", "an end to baby killing", and that sort of thing.

I think that Trump is a excellent salesman, and sold a load of BS to these people. We'll see how it works out for them, but I don't expect their political glee will last that long.

Glad to hear what he *says*....but whether he follows through, who knows. I doubt it. I don't that the Oompa Loompa, as he has shown he's a liar. His voters are being played like fools.
He believes queer marriage is a states issue as I do.

He also believes he has bigger queers .. ahh.. I mean bigger fish to fry than overturning a law from the SC that they had no business making in the first place.

Looks like the Donald gotta go back to school; he talks about "baby-killers"; somebody should teach him about removing an unwanted/unplanned foetus.

Eighty five percent of evangelicals voted for him and his personal views on queer marriage wont disappoint a single one of them because they all figured he wasn't going to ban it in the first place.

What he's going to do is protect their religious freedoms from individuals like you who are fear mongering over a ban on abortion which incidentally is supposed to be another states issue.

So, now Philly is on board with same sex marriage.

Decades ago, few folks had access to healthcare and contraceptives.
They had to either rely on coitus interruptus, or - in the event of unwanted lumps of cells - the rusty-coathanger scenario.
Gays at least do not have to worry about that.

Yea if Trump gives more local control of schools, some of them will bring prayer back into them and that means it's bad news for you.

Even though it's none of yours and never was none of your business.

The religious right loved Ronald Reagan. They still venerate his memory. He talked a good game and they thought he was one of them. But he never delivered anything on their wish list -- specifically including school prayer.

Reagan was our first divorced president, a fact that didn't seem to matter. Trump has been divorced twice but is still capable of stringing along the evangelical vote. He has already done so, appearing to favor criminalization of abortion etc.

The fact is, the religious right has lost its punch. Its voters still count for a lot in the GOP but it is other demographic parameters (income, education, race, residency etc.) which put them in Trump's base of support. Like Reagan, Trump will give them lots of praise and comfort but little else. He is, after all, a New York billionaire.

Decades ago, the fed had nothing to do with abortion. You keep claiming that a woman's choice is nobody's business but her own so why is it the government's business?

Agreed. I support progressive women murdering their babies; they would make horrible mothers anyway and we don't want them in the gene pool.
