| Giuliani took money from Qatar, Venezuela, Iranian exiles; 'Crooked Rudy'? His foreign clientele could present conflicts of interest as secretary of state. | |

Rudy Giuliani's paid consulting for foreign governments would present conflicts of interest as the nation's top diplomat that would make the Clinton Foundation look trifling. Since leaving the New York mayor's office, Giuliani has made millions as a lawyer and consultant, including for some clients at odds with U.S. foreign policy. When some of those ties surfaced amid Giuliani's own presidential bid in 2007, they were considered to pose an unprecedented number of ethical quandaries for a potential commander in chief. Now those concerns have no doubt been eclipsed by Donald Trump's own web of business entanglements, which are still not completely known to the public. Giuliani's participation in Trump's transition and contention for the job of secretary of state poses a direct challenge to Trump's promises to root out Washington self-dealing and ban his administration's officials from lobbying for foreign governments. In 2011, an exiled Iranian political party called the Mujahedin e-Khalq, known as the MEK, paid Giuliani to give a speech in Washington calling on the State Department to remove the group from its list of terrorist organizations. The MEK recruited a host of other formal officials to its cause and succeeded in reversing the terrorist designation in 2012. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/giuliani-foreign-clientele-possible-conflicts-231413 |

This pay-to-play drag queen looks pretty normal in the Cabinet of Deplorables now assembling. I was saddened to see Governor Fatso and his crew get the boot for having put the Daddy of Trump's closest advisor (and son-in-law) in jail after releasing a sex tape of him with a hooker hired to entrap him. It would be a rare administration to survive even one of the half-dozen major scandals that have surfaced so far and the new prez won't even be sworn in for weeks. The double standard of Trump voters is awesome to behold. |

Just out of curiosity, did Rudy take these payments while he was serving as Secretary of State? Was he serving in any public officer when he took these payments? Regardless of when he took the payments if he worked as a lobbyist for foreign interests then it would change how I feel about his qualifications for SecState. I expect Democrats in the Congress will demand hearings on the New Secretary of State, but the Republican majority will laugh in the Democrat's face...That is the type of thing that happens when your Party is irrelevant in government and is only running its mouth..........

Giuliani never had the job. He has had an unsuccessful political career for many years. |

So what we have here is false equivalency? If Rudy took money from these people while he was a private citizen rather than while in a government position then obviously it can not be compared to the Clinton Foundation taking money from foreign nations while Clinton is the SecState. Similarly, there would be nothing wrong with the Clinton Foundation taking money from these organizations while Clinton was not in government service. |

I wonder how many foreign contributors to the Clinton Family Foundation are demanding their money back, now that Hillary lost the election................

I get it, Rudy was mayor of NYC but not as SOS and therefore he can not be held accountable for receiving hands full of cash to stuff his political pockets from foreign entities. Now ain't the just how republicans roll. The message that conservatives seem to spread here is: it's okay we are republicans. Edited by edro14, Nov 16 2016, 10:26 AM.

Obviously you did not read my question or my statements. I asked if Rudy had taken any of these funds while actively serving in political office. If he had then he would be in the same boat as Clinton. |
