Republican President-elect Donald Trump is to meet one of his severest critics, Mitt Romney, as he continues to build his transitional team.

Media have speculated the post of secretary of state could be discussed.
During the election campaign, Mr Romney called Mr Trump a "fraud" and "phony", while Mr Trump said Mr Romney's unsuccessful campaign against Barack Obama in 2012 was "the worst ever".
Mr Trump has settled several posts so far, a number of them controversial.
The nominee for attorney general, Jeff Sessions, was rejected from becoming a federal judge in 1986 because of alleged racist remarks.

Romney's time has passed. He deserves nothing, and he has nothing to offer
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

I think Trump is doing it just to rub it in his face.

It appears to me Romney will soon be joining the Trump administration, with his churches full backing if not insistence.

This ^^^ is the angry sulking which will destroy the Trump administration if the redneck "base" continues to rampage through the Republican Party looking for RINOs. Inshallah

Like most Republican leaders, Romney's immediate concern is to get Trump inside the tent pissing out rather than outside the tent pissing in.

Remember what happened to the TEA Party rage? If the angry "white nationalist" loudmouths don't STFU, their hero president will be an impotent clown in a disastrous single term. Go for it, boys, you are the best public relations agency that the Black Lives Matter folks have got going for them.

Abe Lincoln was a single term President and he shook the earth to its core.

That would be one way to view it but another way would demonstrate that Trump is not one to let a grudge stand in the way of an arrangement that could be a positive for the American people. I supported Obama and though Romney a geek but now I would like to see him partnered with Trump in some way.

Well, if he can get Mormons to stop cucking, so be it.

He also was a vampire hunter. He did a remarkable job of eradicating the vampire population of his time.

So the F what? Do you think we are going to have a civil war capped by presidential assassination? Are you aware of the political experience Lincoln brought to the White House? Lincoln didn't shake the Earth to its core; the white racists of the South brought Dixie down upon their own heads. The difference between Lincoln and Trump is like the difference between lightning and a lightning bug. Get serious; or better yet, go read a book!

The minor spat between Trump and Romney can be easily repaired. If you think about it Trump actually took it easy on Romney due the nomination process. With Trump saying Romney's campaign against Obama was "the worst ever." Big deal.

I'm not sure Mitt will take SoS, due to time constraints, but he could certainly handle it. An Ambassadorship is more likely, but we'll see.

There is a secessionist movement in California, so perhaps. There is no sacrifice too high for which the American people should recoil from bearing in order to bring about Trump's vision for this nation and this earth.

I know you probably hate to admit this, but, sooner or later Trump and especially his supporters will need to make peace with moderates within the GOP.
