Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice for national security adviser, railed during the campaign against Hillary Clinton for her reported mishandling of classified material as secretary of state. But according to U.S. Army records published Wednesday by the Washington Post, Flynn “inappropriately shared” classified information with foreign military officers in Afghanistan. https://www.yahoo.com/news/flynn-trumps-national-security-adviser-mishandled-classified-information-army-records-show-152643665.html |

It's just going to be a part of an extremely long list of foolish and stupid things that Putin's American Governor has mixed himself in with. Buckle up little Ranger, the surface of the foolishness of electing this carnival barker is just beginning to be scratched.

I'm not. However, this guy was part of the "lock her up" chant gang so the hypocrisy of this is pretty glaring, even you have to admit that. OK, you won't no surprise there. As I said the whole time, this kind of stuff happens the whole time. Right or wrong it is not prosecutable. I will point out that while the Army claims it was unintentional, Flynt himself admits he knew what he was doing and meant to do it. I will also point out that while with the email issue there is no evidence any of the classified information ended up in the hands of foreign nationals, with Flynt he gave the material to Foreign Nationals. Just say'n. |

I'm calling his boss foolish and stupid. You would be all sorts of lathered up if this were a Democrat that is going to put someone in a critical position that requires top security but has a record of breaking his clearance trust.... Hell you have tried your best to tie Clinton to just that even after she was fully investigated and cleared. This guy has not been cleared. His indiscretions have been confirmed. Yet you ignore it. I doubt you could have but your bloviance is well known. As far as my knowing, I don't any more than you do. So I will believe the tech experts at FBI, NSA and CIA who said there was traces of attempts but no trace of a successful hack. If you know more you might want to share it with them. |

The two cases have striking parallels in that no harm was done and no security systems compromised. Technical breaches within the workspace of busy administrators is not equivalent to planned espionage by foreign enemies. Conflating the two for purposes of partisan attack weakens American government in the real world where serious spying is a constant danger. Our government has been shackled by such hysteria for years and our democratic electoral process cynically degraded thereby as well. I hope sincerely that President Trump will be able to stop this internal squabbling but I fear the Democrats now feel it is their turn to throw a tantrum. |

If a military general does know better when it comes to sharing classified military information he should be forced out of active duty with loss of pension. He then should be barred from any sensitive governmental service of any kind and at any level of government. Not even as an effing street sweeper. Edited by edro14, Dec 15 2016, 11:31 AM.
