Looking to bum a smoke? You’ve got the best chances in Kentucky and West Virginia, where more than a quarter of the adult population smokes. Looking for a beer buddy? Nearly a quarter of North Dakota and Wisconsin residents report either excessive or chronic drinking. Those are some of the results from the annual America’s Health Rankings report, issued by the United Health Foundation, which finds massive disparities in health behavior and outcomes in states around the country.

Healthiest....all lily white states.... Seriously wrong. Hawaii has one of the highest non-white populations. MA and CT are also well represented among non-white population states. The difference isn't in racial statistics, it is in public health services for poor people. Hawaii and Massachusetts lead the nation in the percentage of insured citizens. Socialism saves lives.

Health statistics in those Southern states are terrible for whites as well. Obesity from greasy diets, lack of exercise because of the heat, it all adds up. The big killer is lack of medical care which comes from poverty exacerbated by government restrictions on Medicaid etc. Dixie has always been wretched for all but the elite.

You make a very strong case against Obama Care. Why are the healthy people subsidizing the unhealthy ones?

I've been to Hawaii once and I'll never go back. We stayed at a beautiful resort, the scenery was amazing yet when we took a walk outside our hotel it looked like a homeless convention. They were sleeping on most of the benches and were showering on the beach. If anyone can ruin paradise it's the left. They didn't look particular healthy either. As a conservative I'm 5' 11" and usually a shade under 170 lbs. I can beat most young men on a bike and my body fat is under 15%.

As for me, I chose not to participate. Thanks. No, you are the one making a strong (economic) case against Obamacare, and you have a sound logical basis for doing so. The foundation of Obamacare is the proclamation of healthcare as an entitlement for all Americans. This is a position on which thoughtful Americans can disagree, as I suspect you and I do.
This entitlement, like all entitlements, is a socialist program, the unequal expenditure of government funds on citizens for the benefit of the larger society as a whole. Conservatives do not see such programs as within the mandate of the Constitution. I think I understand that position.
The significant disparities in health among American citizens are real; what should be done about them is a matter of serious discussion. The first national health insurance plan was put into place by the Prussian Chancellor Count Otto Von Bismarck around the time of our Civil War. His concern was for the military effectiveness of the army and the competitiveness of Prussian industry. Not all fans of healthcare entitlement are libbies.

The last time I was on the big island we stayed at the Moana Surfrider on the beach in Waikiki and sitting on the front porch facing the street you could see the hookers walking up and down picking up customers (mostly Asians) right in front of the hotel....
Pretty good prices and one even offered a group rate....
6'3 185 and definitely less than 15% Body fat.....when in the states on most days 15 miles or more on the bike....

The reason Hawaii and Massachusetts lead the nation in the health of their citizens isn't really due to the cardiac damage done by chicken fried steak and grits. These states give their citizens medical insurance coverage, largely through employers but through state programs where necessary. The Dixie Death States have a long history of treating their citizens like domestic animals. Wikipedia provides an easy-reader version of the issue:
Hawaii Prepaid Health Care (PHC) Act (PHCA) is a state law (Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 393) enacted June 12, 1974[2] in the State of Hawaii to improve health care coverage by employer mandate. Upon its adoption in 1974, Hawaii became the first U.S. state to require minimum standards of health care benefits by law. Under the law, businesses are required to offer health insurance to employees who work more than 20 hours per week for four or more consecutive weeks in the State of Hawaii. Before the law Hawaii had an insured rate of 70%. The highest insured rate after the law was enacted was 98%; by 2009 Hawaii's insured rate dropped to 92%, due largely to the 2009 recession.Among other things, Hawaii's law requires employers to offer coverage to employees working at least 20 hours per week. At 6.7%, Hawaii had the nation's second-lowest uninsured rate, trailing only Massachusetts, where 3.7% of the population lacked health care coverage in 2013, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Already answered above... :oyvey Two points. First, I like other posters in here will frequently write replies as we go through the thread.
Second, you did not answer it. You made a declarative statement without substance.
Do you see health as a direct result of skin tone? So far you do.
Care to expand your answer?
