In April 2009, just three months after Barack Obama’s inauguration, a new strain of H1N1 swine flu was detected in the United States. It eventually reached pandemic status, spreading to the vast majority of countries and killing more than 18,000 people. In September 2012, in the dusk of Obama’s first term, a new flu-like disease called Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) was described in Saudi Arabia; America saw two cases. In December 2013, a year into Obama’s second term, the biggest Ebola outbreak in history began in Guinea before spreading to 10 countries and killing 11,000 people; four cases reached the U.S. And by the time the epidemic officially ended in early 2016, the Zika virus has already started sweeping the Americas. https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2016/12/outbreaks-trump-disease-epidemic-ebola/511127/ Edited by CautionaryTales, Dec 21 2016, 06:52 AM.

He seals the borders with Canada and Mexico; he quarantines sick Americans; he declares martial law, builds detention-style camps for quarantine-defiers, and uses epidemic conspiracies to launch a trade war with China. Desperation is so sad |

The delightful thing about predictions is that you can paint just about any scenario you like. |

It's a pretty informative article. You should take the time to read it. It'll smort ya up For what it's worth, I hope he does a good job with all of the challenges of being President that come his way. We all win if that happens. Edited by CautionaryTales, Dec 21 2016, 08:56 AM.

He has already abandoned the failed policy of refusing to link Islam and terrorism. He has accepted a clash of civilizations. |

if a Pandemic were to strike there is nothing we could do to truly stop it.. Dont look at E-bola of Bubonic plague... E Bola burns out quickly and Bubonic Plague is Easily trewated with anti biotics. Look at the Spanish Flu Pandemic that killed more in a 2 year period than those two put together... THAT is a real pandemic and a flu shot wouldnt promise any measure of success in preventing it. ![]() Edited by voted4reagan, Dec 21 2016, 11:49 AM.

Trump needs to focus more so on the male vote. He should have nationalized the Boy Scouts when they decided to admit girls. Harambe4Trump AKA "FASHY" | |

If we are ready to rip up the constitution because of 11 cases of Ebola, what should we do about the 50,000 people that die each year from smoking related illnesses? Should smokers be put in detention camps? |

That's mentioned in the article. Flu is always a big one. AIDS response might be an example of a truly wide ranging and difficult disease to control. It still is a problem but it's has been reined in to some degree. I think the problem being anticipated is the disavowal of science in this new administration. Couple that with large spending cuts and there is a pretty solid reason for concern. |

It s disavowal of leftist 'science' where results are manipulated to further an agenda. Propagandists and marxists need to be disavowed - at the very least. |

Immigrants used to undergo a physical before entering the general population. Thanks to the left they just enter the country and get a welfare check. We are much safer with Trump than Obama. Trump will also keep the jihad starter kits from Syria out of the country Good post CT, I'm even happier we elected Trump.

After 8 years of lies and incompetence I am indeed optimistic, especially since we will finally have a competent manager in the WH. So far Trump hasn't lied to us about his healthcare plan and called us stupid. He's definitely off to a better start than Obama All y'all need to relax, the next four years will be over before you know it. |
