North Carolina can no longer be considered a democracy, according to a new report from the Electoral Integrity Project (EIP), which rated the state's overall electoral integrity at the same levels of those in authoritarian states and "pseudo-democracies" such as Cuba, Indonesia and Sierra Leone. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/north-carolina-is-no-longer-a-democracy-report/ar-BBxv4Ou?li=BBnb7Kz |

Good. Democracy is a discredited, failed form of government past its sell-by date. |

The Electoral Integrity Project is a relatively recent organization...Its Director, Pippa Norris is dripping from a shower of liberalism...She is a former teacher (not Professor) from The University of Sidney and Harvard, as well as a consultant at the UN and World Bank.....North Carolina scored better than Arizona on their integrity index...That was my clue this liberal project is full of biased feces..........

Where they can, red states will withdraw from the federal union to the degree legally possible. They learned in 1860 that gunfire doesn't help, so things will be a bit more subtle and sophisticated now, but all that talk of secession has real popular roots, however constitutionally impractical it may be. Tough titty for the bottom half of the income scale but, hey, that's the American dream for ya. |

Unfortunately, Gandhi was not around to show the Confederacy a manner which would have been effective. |

Ghandi got is direction in life from his with experience of Jim Crow as operated by the British Raj in South Africa. His attitude toward the slave states of America, had he experienced them, would hardly have been conducive to assistance. |

Yes, our republic with democratic principles is terrible, and the worst form of government imaginable. Except for all the others ... |

North Carolina is no longer a democracy because Hillary's mafia henchmen couldn't flip it in her favor.

Red states are going to take Trump's presidency as a signal to pass a wide range of legislation to roll back what they perceive as Obama's laws. This will happen in voter registration and, with the repeal of Obamacare, massive cutbacks in Medicaid and then Medicare and Social Security. If the tactic works, Trump will be able to tweet benignly about his concern for all Americans while looking the other way as "states' rights" guts the living standards of the poorest people in our poorest states. This is where we are going. What will happen when we get there remains to be seen. |

People think that gerrymandering is a problem you can blame your political opponents for, but the truth is that everyone in power has an incentive to adjust the districts in order to give themselves a safer seat. |
