Proving the Russian hack without revealing too much is a challenge; Why us mere mortals may not and probably should not see the evidence

"If I can't use this information, then what good is it to have it?! Why even collect it in the first place?!"

It's a cry of frustration that I heard many times during my 30-year career as an operations officer at the CIA. Usually it comes from ambassadors or senior members of the national security apparatus in Washington, and occasionally even from analysts in the intelligence community who have been provided with a truly stunning piece of information acquired clandestinely from human or technical sources.

The sense of frustration is heightened when the topic is critical and timely, and when both the government and the American public are clamoring for answers to difficult questions.

This is precisely where we as a nation find ourselves when discussing the claim by the U.S. intelligence community that Russian hackers attempted to influence the U.S. presidential election. The White House has ordered a report on what the hackers did and to what extent they were trying to help Donald Trump, before Trump is sworn in as president Jan. 20.

Similar lies were used to start the Iraq war. Never again.

Notably, Trump hasn't let the hacking hoax or Obama's attempt to start WWIII get in his way to assume power.

The Donald has proclaimed that he is in possession of secret knowledge about Comrade Putin's hacks and will reveal them "Tuesday or Wednesday." This should be good.

How do you know something is fake news? If a leftist claims it.

The only question now is how many new wars can Obama add to his list in these few weeks?

It's ok B....the more Obama and his minions pull unprecedented petulant things the more people will gravitate away from the smirking class and over to the adults who have just entered the room....

they will only shrink their shrinking base and alienate more people....if Trump plays it right....the petulantays will turn him into a sympathetic figure...

So you are saying Trump won't let things happening only in your imagination stand in his way. That's comforting.

Notice the trend in the Righties? When they get caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar they try to deflect to the Left.

Trump is a sycophant for Putin so we get the Obama/Russian memes

the Right relies on fictional news stories to feed their media machine and now that it is out in the open, they claim anything that counters their beliefs is "fake news".

Russia has never done anything to harm me and mine. That is more than can be said of the Democratic Party.

During the Cuban missile crisis I saw photos of the Russian missiles....In the DNC Hackgate I don't even see a photo of the hackers and their location....Our intelligence services can't provide the photos because they haven't a clue who did the hacking and from what location....Personally I don't trust the French, and I suspect they did the hacking...You may find that ridiculous unless you know the history of French hacking and information theft from computers in other countries...Or Bucky is just trying to cover for his French masters by screaming , "the Russians did it"....................... :oyvey

Notice the trend in Lefties? Unable to fathom that the American people don't want them or their policies, they have a new reason every week why they lost. The first stage is acceptance.... you losers.

We, the general public will likely never know the full extent to which the Russians/Putin are or are not involved.
The left desperately needs this Russian hacking to be true in order to deflect the public's attention from the content of those emails. True.... to the far reaching extent that Trump colluded with Putin. These and other revelations during and after the election expose the filthy underbelly of DNC politics, and the depths to which they will sink to win at all cost.

At this point it's equally ignorant to conclude that Russians attempted to aid Trumps election as it is to conclude that they didn't attempt to do so. But the lines are drawn and reason is out the window.

When questions are raised of the veracity of these charges, the left hysterically attempt to shout down those questions with finger pointing personal insults and accusations questioning the 'loyalty to America'.** It's a trend we've seen before with every contentious issue from feminism to racism. It's become their 'go to' response when uncomfortable questions challenge their narrative. Dem's are humiliated by the content of these and other leaks, and are lashing out. It's very disappointing. Skepticism is healthy. Self serving conclusions are not. It is perfectly rational to raise these questions. That's what investigations do, but the left needs a distraction, so they fill the information void with speculation, to come to a convenient conclusion.

From hamstringing Sanders to arm twisting electors and everything in between. The DNC, their proxies and the media have given us cause to wonder which, they or the Russians, are the greater threat to our electoral process. To my democratic friends I would suggest.. The greater enemy is within your own ranks.

Last week on Fox News a leftwing mouth piece was pushing the Russian hacking narrative, going so far as to suggest Trump/Putin collusion. When asked by the host to provide any tangible evidence of such, what was his response?

"Oh, so I'm glad to see you support a communist dictator."

I see the same thing here on these boards, and I must say it's very disappointing.

Yes because Democrats really care about national security. Republicans seem more intent on refilling the swamp with their own critters.
