Washington Post retracts story about Russian hack at Vermont utility The Washington Post has retracted its story about Russian hackers penetrating the nation’s electricity grid with a virus found in a Burlington, Vt., electric company laptop. “Authorities say there is no indication of that so far [that Russians had penetrated the US electric grid],” according to an editor’s note attached to a corrected version of the story on the paper’s Web site. http://nypost.com/2017/01/01/washington-post-retracts-story-about-russian-hack-at-vermont-utility/ Edited by Alt Right PEPE, Jan 2 2017, 08:21 AM.

“Authorities say there is no indication of that so far [that Russians had penetrated the US electric grid],” according to an editor’s note attached to a corrected version of the story on the paper’s website. “The computer at Burlington Electric that was hacked was not attached to the grid,” the editor’s note read. ------ The laptop was infected but had not yet been connected with the grid. Caught in time by whatever security measures they use before connection maybe? It wasn't for lack of effort. |

it's not like you've posted anything resembling news - a 6 month old Crowdstrike report which wasn't news until it was debunked... now, all of a sudden, Russian hackers are everywhere... show of hands people who think this would be in the news if not for the election results? |

I usually post supporting documentation as links which is more than you do. The Crowdstrike material was independently evaluated by other experts and validated. Your hatchet-job "debunk" by an unqualified hack was full of holes which I already pointed out. |

I posted articles debunking the 6 month old report that you posted. You've yet to respond to that other than ... Glenn Greenwald.... hurrr hurrr hurrr I even assume the NCA or CIA have SIGINT, I just want to see it... |

Trump supporters seem to believe that the entire Russian hacking story is fake. The tap dancing has already begun over the Vermont malware. This sort of blind obedience is going to weaken their hero. Mr. Trump has already set the stage for a back-down on his earlier claim that "we don't know" who was behind the DNC hack. Mr. Trump is compulsively inclined to shoot from the hip. His administration is going to have to develop an effective technique for weaseling out his spontaneous claims. The chorus of kids pouncing on his every pronouncement as gospel truth and defending it against any and all suggestions to the contrary is going to make the job a lot harder. That was the trap that buried Sarah Palin and it can swallow Donald Trump too. |

You've been presented the evidence. You've chosen to ignore it so that you can protect Putin Jr. |

What has been retracted is the statement that the utility network was penetrated. What has not been retracted is the evidence that Russian malware designed to penetrate electric utility networks was found on the laptop used by an employee of the Burlington electric company, an employee who routinely connects that company laptop to the company network and which, had the connection been made before the malware was discovered, would have penetrated the network. An armed, masked man with a history of bank robberies is detained by bank guards as he attempts to enter the bank. Headlines scream "Armed and Masked Man Attempts to Rob Bank!" Disgraceful! he never attempted a robbery. For all we know he was wearing a mask and carrying a gun because he was going to make a deposit. Typical fake news story by the liberal media. |

Its literally nothing. The red scare adopted as a last ditch attempt to breath life into the democrats is predicated on lies.
