Araya later made what some took to be a homophobic comment when he added in the comments section, "Mike pence turning fruits into vegetables," seemingly referring to vice president Mike Pence's alleged history as a supporter of gay conversion therapy. Araya also clarified that he doesn't speak for the whole band and that the image "did exactly what I thought it would do... p*ssed some of you off." It appears that the rest of the band did not appreciate the gesture. In a statement sent to Billboard by the group's spokesperson, Slayer wrote, "As was verified by Tom, this was his post, is not something the band would have posted if asked, and does not belong on a Slayer social page. We all have our personal opinions, some of which we have voiced in the past, but Slayer has never endorsed any political party or any candidate, and the band intends to keep it that way." http://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/slayer-photoshopped-pic-with-donald-trump-causes-band-rift/ar-AAmh3Ht?li=BBnb7Kz Edited by dr345, Jan 26 2017, 05:28 PM.

Well, at least the Obama and Aerosmith photo was real. Seriously though, regardless of which President it is, when these guys are in office they are THE PRESIDENT. I have never been a fan of Obama and I especially loathed his energy policies. Even so, if in the course of my work or through something I did I were invited to meet with Obama (even now as an ex president) it would still be an honor. I have met George W Bush and that too was an honor even though I disagreed with his spending like a drunken sailor wile president. |

Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence. | |
