In 1960, Los Angeles was a middle class utopia, the most Anglo Saxon major city in the nation. That paradise was ruined because someone wanted to pay a little less for an orange.
Middle class utopia? In 1960 downtown LA was the smog capital of the world. :oyvey In 1960 SoCal, one income was enough to support a family, pay a mortgage in a good school district, and finance a car in sunny SoCal. How are those apples now?

Quoting limited to 5 levels deep
Does the Hoover Dam need to be rebuilt?
Did the country stop on a dime when it was finished?
Why does this country need to be rebuilt? There's enough pavement laid down.
Fashy, time doesn't stop and to maintain the country that we have built is a responsibility we all share. So you are telling me the the previous wave of immigrants that did all this building didn't build to last?

When Manuel, Hector and Jose are no longer available to thanks to Trump you'll be asking Harry, Dick and Tom to build you some new American made harvesting equipment...
Can't afford them, can't afford to repair them if I did have them, can't afford the diesel necessary to run them, they won't sing songs to cheer me up as we go about the harvest, it can't play a mariachi guitar, not have daughters that make my sons swoon, and can't sit down with me for a good omelet at breakfast to keep me company.
You will have to buy an American-made Bose soundbar. If your farm cannot pay Americans a living wage, then let it fail.
The wages are good, the work is backbreaking and long, and hard on the body. Your justifications are eerily similar to the ones used by progressive democratic slaveholders before a Republican removed their source of cheap labor.

I know it's easier to blame the farmer then the undesired employment that what local whites and blacks feel is not to their liking, I can't help it if they are lazy and the illegal Hispanics aren't. Perhaps it their lack of a good work ethic?
Since you've worked on corporate farms, we won't go into the crap you guys pull.

Buy some American made machinery or go out of business. The choice is yours... Or, I get my work visa program, the harvest get done, I don't have to smell diesel fuel every morning and the wives of my family's farm still put out great breakfasts..why buy machinery we don't need, we're not essential to the job and would not be used year round? Rather a bunch of men and women who become family over a few months during the harvest and planting seasons.
And yes the term "lazy Americans" applies, the wages are good

You don't get it, the fuc*ing point is that even with good wages we don't get Americans. Then the sick desire to see Americans lose their livelihood simply because we don't pay out of the norm wages for farmwork...Now, if you want to go after someone, there are sweatshops in the garment districts of any major urban area that pay substandard wages whose only benefit is putting out that shirt, sweater, or tennis shoe out to you cheaper. I suggest you go after them.

So we come back full circle to my question, where does this naive belief come from that all things being equal that if we just got rid of the illegals, then we'd have Americans flocking to these jobs in food industry, textile, service, and agribusines
