I don't like to talk about politics on Facebook -- political history is my job, after all, and you are my friends -- but there is an important non-partisan point to make today. What Steve Bannon is doing, most dramatically with the ban on immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries -- is creating what is known as a "shock event." http://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2017/01/31/americans-can-turn-tables-steve-bannons-shock-event |

This Muslim ban and the resistance thereof did reveal the enemy fifth column within. |

Any ban based on religion goes against the Constitution of this country. Those that support that ban are working against the foundation that this country was built upon. Edited by CautionaryTales, Jan 31 2017, 01:34 PM.

Muslims were mostly prohibited from entering this country for nearly two hundred years after it was created. Read a history book. |

Open a history book and see prior immigration acts. This country has no obligation to admit anyone. |

The Constituion makes it clear that previous tactics were at odds with the founding document of this country. Propose to change the Constition if you want, but as it is you advocate breaking the law. |

Libs citing the Constitution...now that's funny.... What is interesting is watching the lefties via the CT types trying to introduce the term "shock event" into the mainstream lexicon.... Perhaps they should have just stuck with their prior term "stray voltage" http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-pen-phone-and-stray-voltage/ |

The men who wrote the constitution knew far more about its foundations than Progs ever will. |

From that link He's casually throwing around phrases like "new political order" as if they aren't terrifying when paired with him running roughshod over the rights of...well, everyone who isn't a rich, white, straight male. And if you still think Trump is actually in control, here's what Bannon said of his so-called boss last year: "[Donald Trump is a] blunt instrument for us,” he told me earlier this summer. “I don’t know whether he really gets it or not.” So there you have it. A man who wants to "destroy the state" and who basically bragged that he was manipulating Trump to his own ends has already, in only eleven days, risen to an unprecedented level of influence for someone in his position. He's already overruled entire departments of government and unseated qualified security experts on the NSC. So we should get some slimy photos of Steve Bannon ready for those junior-high civics classrooms. After all, they usually have photos of the presidents on their walls.
