The anti-Trump resistance will fail if we don't ditch establishment Democrats; We can’t succeed if we are tied to generations of unpopular Democratic party leaders

The center has nothing we want anyways
Without it you can't win.
On the contrary times are changing, more people from the center are moving more to the left or right. Next election 4 more years of millennials will be voting age while 4 years of dinosaurs unable to change will be taking a dirt nap.
We believe only what we want to believe.

...said every screeching member of the American far-left since 1968. Hasn't happened yet, but maybe next time?

Although 1968 was well before my time, I doubt there is any relevancy in comparing 1968 to today.

Our time is just beginning.

Yeah, and what a rollicking start it is off to.

It's not about me ;)

That's the one simple but essential concept that the ideologues never get. It is effectively what demarcates the adults from the children in politics.

And an increasingly alarming number of people in our society are emotionally incapable of processing those four words. They just can't conceive of it. Our new president - quite obviously - is one of them. But he's not alone. People grouse, become offended and even invent conspiracies when the political system doesn't produce exactly what they want.

It would never occur to many of them that - in a democracy - the political system isn't actually SUPPOSED to produce exactly what you want. It is supposed to produce workable governance for 300 million people most of whom you'll never meet and wouldn't like if you did. That's why the only solution guys like Eddo can come up with is a fantasy world where all his enemies will die of old age and everyone who replaces them will magically be like him.

Tragically, many of them will be like him. Ignorant, entitled, self-indulgent, obsessed with conspiracism. But it won't help him get what he wants because they are going to be as trapped in their bubbles as he is.

I blame the Internet personally. We used to have a greater sense of nationality before technology allowed us to group together in small clots and gain identity from the virtual world.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jan/31/anti-trump-resistance-fail-ditch-establishment-democrats

If the last week has shown us anything, it’s that Donald Trump has power, but he doesn’t have much of a mandate yet.

We need to keep it that way – and be wary of the bad political leadership and strategy that can help him build one. November’s election is a powerful reminder that the Clinton establishment’s mix of socially inclusive rhetoric and neoliberal economics is a weak response to xenophobic populism.

An anti-Trump resistance movement must be broad, but it must direct its anger and energy not just at the enemy in the White House, but the failed leadership that let him get there. The Tea Party movement couldn’t have emerged with Bob Dole and George W Bush among their leaders. We can’t build our anti-Trump resistance, settled with generations of unpopular Democratic party leaders either.
Trump is President because of people like you eddo.
Don't you ever forget that because you had the chance to stop him and instead you cut off your own nose to spite your face and supported him.

When I say the American voters always get what they deserve, it's people like YOU that I have in mind.

This is spot on....who in the Dem establishment sides with the people?

In fact the Dem establishment worked overtime to suppress the will of their people.....

This is what they have been reduced to....

If ditching establishment Democrats is such a great strategy, why wasn't Hillary ditched prior to her nomination ???....Perhaps Democrats are the establishment in sheep's clothing........... :oyvey

The left/right paradigm has always been bonkers; what has driven elections have been effectiveness, competence, security, and prosperity. Pity the fool who thinks abstract ideals on a mythical political chart will drive people.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.
