Despite today’s outrage over President Donald Trump’s refugee executive order, many liberals in 1975 were part of a chorus of big name Democrats who refused to accept any Vietnamese refugees when millions were trying to escape South Vietnam as it fell to the communists.

They even opposed orphans.

"Then-Sen. Joe Biden tried to slow down the refugee bill in the Senate, complaining that he needed more details about the quickly unfolding refugee problem before he would support it. He said the White House “had not informed Congress adequately about the number of refugees,” according to the Library of Congress history of the legislation."

“They didn’t want any of these refugees, because they had also unemployment,” she told NPR. “They had already a large number of foreign-born people there. They had – they said they had too many Hispanics, too many people on
welfare."

I guess this was before liberals figured out they could get these people on welfare and turn them into loyal democrats?

Thoughts?

The refugees could have done a lot of good if they had been concentrated into Detroit
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Leftists are still using interment of Japanese during WWII to push their political agenda today.

It never ceases to amaze me how conservatives paint Vietnam as all Johnson fault and Nixon had absolutely nothing to do with it. :oyvey

Your 'source' offers absolutely nothing written before 2006 to bolster their assertions. I'm gonna call this partisan bullshit.

Although I did find this:

As Trump bans Syrian refugees, a look back at when California welcomed 50,000 displaced people

President Trump’s restrictions on refugees and others from some Middle Eastern countries has generated much debate about the role the United States should play in helping those trying to flee their homelands.

California was confronted with this issue in 1975 at the end of the Vietnam War, as South Vietnamese allies of the U.S. were desperately trying to get out as the communists took over. Thousands ended up at Camp Pendleton in what became one of the nation’s largest refugee operations.

It's from 5 days ago but directly rebuts the daily caller's story.

"Effective immediately, Cuban nationals who attempt to enter the United States illegally and do not qualify for humanitarian relief will be subject to removal," Obama said. "By taking this step, we are treating Cuban migrants the same way we treat migrants from other countries."

Obama hates all immigrants unless they're Muslims and from a terrorist hotbed country. I have to assume Obama is inviting jihadists to America? What other conclusion could we draw?

someone please correct me, but is "Oriental" a racist word now?

I think you are supposed to say "Asian" - not 100% sure - it's getting hard to keep up with what is offensive anymore...
Republicans sign checks on the front, democrats sign them on the back…True story!
