Ok let me emphasize my initial point. I have no objection to a "temporary" ban on ALL citizens from EVERYWHERE for upwards of 90 days while a comprehensive review of all vetting procedures is completed and upon the end of that review, an issuance of any additions of subtractions to our current policy on immigration be done.
If Trump had really been serious on this issue, on immigration, there are any number of ways to have gone about it.
He would have had his Attorney General sit down with the Secretary of State. There would have been a bipartisan committee from the House and Senate. The AG would have put together a virtual army of lawyers to go over every nook and cranny to ensure every change, no matter how minute could withstand Congressional oversight and Constitutional review by the USSC.
No, what does he do? An Executive Order that was doomed to have been put on hold somewhere almost as soon as it was filmed on the evening news with him making a grand escapade of him signing it.
By singling out what many perceive as "Muslim only " countries, this was doomed to failure. Now do I still think a review of our immigration policy overall is required, ya damn right.

That would have taken forever. Perhaps he should have waited until his SCOTUS nominee were approved or in the immediate aftermath of a terrorist attack. Either way, he is doing what the American people put him in office to do.

No, he's not. This is what happens when you put an amateur in charge of a country, with amateur advisors. And an adolescent, narcissistic amateur at that.

Either way, he is doing what the American people put him in office to do. The American people wanted to make them safer, what good is a ban that gets overturned almost as soon as it's executed..now, you can do this the right way, and have a comprehensive solution to your demands or an ongoing fight with the he judiciary, public opinion, and finally the media.
As for the American people you mean, only the ones who voted for Trump which by no means was a landslide.

Yep. And he has a vast advantage given that his party controls Congress. Instead, he did this weird slapdash order that wasn't reviewed by much of anyone and that his own homeland security secretary apparently didn't learn about until he saw it being signed on TV. I'm not one of the social justice warrior types so I don't worry that much over the ban itself. But how it was implemented showed precisely how unprepared this guy is for the real world outside his TV show.

If you want your fantasy to become fulfilled, you do it right, no short cuts. Your way is nice for the cameras but lousy on actually being effective or withstanding judicial review as we just found out.
Do you want immigration properly vetted or not...you do the whole shebang not just what you personally want.

Reports emerged over the weekend that Department of Homeland Security staff members were allowed to see the order only after Trump signed it, and National Security Council lawyers were prevented from evaluating it. The State Department and the Department of Defense were also excluded from the process, NBC reported. Kelly on Tuesday said he knew the executive order "was coming" but would not comment on whether he saw the full document before Trump signed it on Friday afternoon. "People on my staff were generally involved" in drafting the order, Kelly said, noting that he thought the order was "fairly clear."
"I did know it was under development and had the opportunity to look at two drafts as it got closer to Friday," Kelly said. "I didn't get involved in correcting grammar or reformatting the thing."

T is really saying he doesn't want a ban. He is trying to prove that he is still a conservative.

T is really saying he doesn't want a ban. He is trying to prove that he is still a conservative. At what point in your one liner did you even attempt to read what I wrote, is further trolling all you've good for? Is your discussion with longbich over trolling accurate. A shame you feel trolling is more effective then actually addressing it, perhaps I should move this to the no-hostility forum where you refuse to post.
And what is not conservative about preserving the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the Republic?
