Joe Scarborough: Trump’s reckless shot at a federal judge; Taking issue with the Twit-in-chief

I had intended to use this space to detail how the chaotic events of the past week had persuaded President Trump to put into practice a more rigorous process to avoid calamities like last week’s immigration executive order. But that subject will have to wait for another day, since the 45th president decided to use Twitter this weekend to repeatedly question the legitimacy of a sitting federal judge.

When a president tweets insults at a Hollywood star, the dignity of his office is tarnished. When a commander in chief uses Twitter to attack a loyal military ally, America’s friends across the globe become unsettled. But when a president uses social media to question the legitimacy of a federal judge following an inconvenient (and temporary) outcome, that is simply unacceptable. From Marbury v. Madison to United States v. Nixon, our federal courts’ power to interpret the Constitution has been sacrosanct. As Chief Justice Warren Burger wrote in U.S. v. Nixon, the concept of checks and balances endures because it has remained (to quote Marbury) “the duty of the judicial department to say what the law is.”

This Judge is reckless. If there is an American citizen injured or killed by one of the people he has let in during this time period (from these restricted countries),this activist Judge should be held accountable!

In the meantime people are gunning each other down every day.

The Court has been used as a battering ram against the authentic America for nearly a centUry now. Good job for leading the counter attack.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Did the left assail the Supreme Court during the 2000 presidential election?

I seem to recall the Obama administration losing a few court cases here and there. And never once did Obama attack the judge involved on a personal basis.

The administration just gave the court the middle finger.

As a general rule, leftists will always complain when you do something good. Thus, Trump's swipe at this corrupt judge was probably the right move.

No President did. That's the issue. Please try to keep up.

How so, exactly? And I want a specific incident where the Obama administration did not actually abide by a final court ruling.

Liberals are hoping terrorist-Americans will become their next big voter block. Imagine the diversity, illegals, inner city welfare mammy's, trans- genders, trans-racial and terrorist-American!

That's going to be tough for the GOP to counter.

Every time Scarborough says something will we be getting a thread....his opinion is that important?

:dunno:

Only liberals can choose not to go down the road to widespread, systematic violence.

That's completely absurd and you know it. No one is suggesting we allow more terrorists to immigrate. We're just pointing out the fact that immigrants aren't a major source of terrorists.

These people are VETTED.

Since they are miniscule in numbers, that wouldn't make a lot of sense now, would it?
Better to cuddle up to white guy serial killers...there are a whole lot more of them than foreign terrorists in this country.

Complete BS, they can't be vetted, neither can the millions that have come across the border from Mexico and South America. Second, I don't care if the MAJORITY aren't terrorists, 1% of 100,000 people is 1000 terrorists. That's a lot of death and destruction.

The government's main job, one they do very poorly, is protecting it's citizens. Importing undesirables and people from terror breeding grounds is just plain stupid and provides no value or benefit whatsoever to law abiding citizens like me.

Why don't you tell me the benefits of bringing poor illiterate peasants from the ME into our country?

Please expand....

Look at the Supreme Court ruling about deporting illegal immigration. Obama refused to comply.
