The political parties of the left aim to destroy the west by means of mass immigration and the emasculation of men. |

While the worst elements certainly get all the attention, I'm not entirely sure I agree that much of the country is sane. Politically speaking, more and more of the people I interact with fall into one of two categories: Kool-Aid or deluded. Much of the population of p.com falls into the Kool-Aid group. They are highly active, strongly motivated and crazy as bedbugs. The deluded people are quieter and saner but horrifically ill-informed, cynical, simplistic toward politics and easily channeled into false narratives. There is a third group of people who appear to think for themselves. But that group is getting very small and even the deluded group is shrinking. The Kool-Aiders are growing. |

The media lost control over the script, after leading the country astray for decades....New definitions of reality are called for, or if you prefer , new definitions of alternative facts....We are amid rapid political change...Political correctness is dead....The American Left will die as suddenly as the commies in Russia....The future of the Democratic Party is in doubt as much as the Whigs were.........

It's not so much change -- that implies some type of progress -- it's more like decay or entropy. The rich and powerful remain rich and powerful, so there's little real political power shift, but the institutions that benefited the rest of us are being vandalized. "Joe six pack" is shooting himself in both feet whist cheering for his oppressors, yet thinks he's more free. |

Change does not have to imply progress and frankly your use of the term progress here is subjective. Progress based upon what perspective? You say that joe six pack is shooting himself in both feet whilst cheering but that is based upon your personal perspective and not that of joe sixpack. He thinks he is more free because he just exercised his right to vote and sent someone to DC that everyone (or at least all of us who think we know better than joe sixpack) said could never win an election. I hate to break it to you but Joe Sixpack is tired of our crap, he is tired of the same retread DC nonsense every single election cycle. So Joe Sixpack decided to take the reins and see what havoc he could cause to the elites who keep telling him what is good for him. Edited by Demagogue, Feb 7 2017, 03:15 PM.

Movement toward anything stable, coherent, or of real benefit to most working Americans.
Yes, that's what I said. He thinks he's sticking it to the elite, when in reality he's giving them more power and acting against his own long term self interest. Edited by nNeo, Feb 7 2017, 03:25 PM.

Based upon your perspective. What actually happens due to this Administration is yet to be seen. People believed the Obama hope and change hype but the reality fell short of what they were promised. The people responded with Trump. Trump will certainly alter DC while he is there. If that was their goal then they have already succeeded in causing more change in a couple short weeks than in 8 years of Obama. |

"Hope and change" was always empty hype, just like "MAGA" but Obama insured millions who didn't have it, saved many jobs in the auto industry, instituted reforms to Wall Street, improved relations with Cuba and Iran, and during his administration same-sex marriage was legalized. Those are significant changes, for better or worse. I have no doubt Trump will do things, better and worse, as well, but the perception that he represents some fundamental shift in power away from Washington is already clearly false. He's increasing, not decreasing, corporate influence and central power. That's the opposite of what 'Joe' thought he was voting for. Edited by nNeo, Feb 7 2017, 03:58 PM.

I don't think they thought that they were voting for some anti-corporate crusader. After all, if Trump is not a big business guy then what on earth is he? The people voted for someone who was not a politician and they made that choice on purpose knowing that it was going to cause problems. Many of those voters probably doubted that he could or even would do many of the things he said he would because that is what we have come to expect of our politicians. The fact that he has actually tried to do a number of the things he campaigned on probably helps him with Joe Sixpack. |

You can find lots of folks who thought that, God knows why. Right. Unfortunately now he is a politician, and inexperienced. Causing problems is easier than fixing them. Edited by nNeo, Feb 7 2017, 04:45 PM.

Trump's real core of support are the racists and the religious right The muslim ban has little to do with terrorism and everything to do with white christians being the ruling elite These two groups have been alarmed at the fact that America's demographics are shifting, that non-hispanic whites will consist of less than 50% of the population by 2050, and both groups fear muslims will come flooding in, along with more rights for gays, non-whites and women They want to stem this demographic tide and they're pinning their hopes on Trump/Bannon/Sessions to do it Edited by Attaburnsinhell, Feb 7 2017, 08:54 PM.

You know, I grew up in NYC. I was never in the majority. I took the subways, went to public high school, worked all city, alway surrounded by latinos, blacks, asians, jews. Rarely did anybody bother me I didnt mind not being the majority. Some of the best people I knew were different. Some of the biggest scumbags I hated were seen as ''my kind'' White people living in Whitelandia are such cowards, backward, angry, insecure unless everyone is just like them Diversity is better |
