I grew up in Denver
In the seventies, Denver had a major smog problem. We had this infamous brown cloud of pollution floating over the city. My Grandparents had to wear respirators on the bad days.
In my neighborhood, it was bad as it was next to a lot of refineries and factories, There was a high level of cancer and other ailments. We were considered the most toxic zip code in the
state. The epa came in and it started getting better
By the nighties, that was pretty much cleared up.
And now my "hood" is being gentrified ..all nice and clean for the white folks moving in with their families.

Go ahead..Terminate the EPA.
For the most part Americans have enjoyed cleaner air, water and general environment and take it for granted..if the pollution returns
You may see an unfortunate backlash

Do you really need to axe it?
I can see going through and adjust the regs and make it more efficient..but getting rid of it..thats just stupid.

Denver still has some of the worst air in the country. How has the EPA helped?

It's still a lot better than it was.
The rise in pollution is due to the Weld County oil fields up north and the fact that Denver is a rapidly growing city with more cars.
Oil and gas activity has increased in the region..drill baby drill.

How has the EPA helped?
You must be very young. The air and water are MUCH cleaner now in many parts of the country. Rivers used to literally catch fire. Lake Erie was dead. Large areas of forest in the Appalachians were dying from acid rain. Air in Denver, LA, and other American cities was all but unbreathable at times. Millions of children were suffering measurable lead poisoning.

We averted those, and many other serious threats to human and environmental health, thanks to the EPA, clean air and water acts, and other legislation. I have no doubt that regulations could be made clearer, less redundant, and could be more evenly and effectively applied. Any politician that earnestly wants to address that has my vote, but to eliminate or substantially gut environmental protection is irresponsible madness.

The EPA did its best work early on....Now the EPA is primarily responsible for providing full employment for environmentalists................ :oyvey

Trump grew up in an era when gasoline contained lead and was spewed into the air by car exhaust

It was seen as the cause of mental illness, low IQ score, even aggressive criminal sexual activity

Had they eliminated it sooner, Trump might have been a decent person

You showed a picture of a trash pickup. That is a far cry from the smog and sludge filled pictures that you claim you can take anywhere. Thanks to the EPA and legislation backing it, the country is a much cleaner place than it was 40 years ago. There is no argument that can be made otherwise.

This legsislation is just so incredibly stupid it is unbelievable but then I'm not surprised you would support it.
