We are too quick to vilify those on the opposite side of the political aisle. I am firmly opposed to Donald Trump, but because of where I live, I know a lot of good and decent people who voted for him. If I feel the urge to disparage Trump supporters as a group, I have to reconcile that urge with what I know about the Trump voters with whom I work, eat and pray.

Trump right out the gate made it clear he's a racist. Good and decent people do not support racism
Trump in his own words admitted he sexually assaults women. Good and decent people would not vote for a sex offender
What you are describing are either really gullible, stupid people, or just a person with a deep streak of bigotry, covered over with a sense of self righteousness

Those types of people are beyond reaching. The only thing that would move them is if they themselves suffered greatly under the new Fuhrer
If you're worried about voters, tap into the 42% that didnt show up on election day. Trump people are trash
Nice folks

And therein lies a significant part of the problem. How do you convince people who are either evil enough to have voted for Trump, or stupid enough to have voted for Trump, the error of their ways?
I mean, they voted for Trump. Kind of hard to reason that away.

Try reasoning with a Trump voter by convincing them they should have voted for the most corrupt, lying political whore in American history that happened to fix the democrat primary while she was under multiple FBI investigations. Do I need to go into the millions of dollars she accepted from the Russians and other rogue nations while running the State Department from her private unsecured server that she knew was hacked on multiple occasions? Remember she did NOT send classified emails from her private server.
There is no reasoning with the left, they a 110% f ing crazed and suicidal over their corrupt queen's epic loss at the hands of working men and women, especially in blue states like PA and OH.
For my part all I can say is enjoy the next four years. Trump has both Houses and he has a pen. Payback is going to feel like a prison love scene.

I'm of the opinion that by the end of his term, in four years, there will be enough people to send him packing. Those that cling to him or try to appease him deserve whatever misfortune he brings to them.

You are probably correct, Americans are used to a benign, politically correct moron, that accomplishes nothing, lies though his teeth, yet avoids hurting our little snowflake's feelings. Hopefully Trump will accomplish most everything he wants to in four years. After that I'll be retired and might welcome a socialist that will send me more government money while bankrupting the country.

Actually, in a rational world "none of the above" or "mickey mouse" would have won the election, hands down. Just because Hillary as a bad choice doesn't make Trump a good choice. After Nixon American's wanted honesty, we got the weak albeit honest Jimma Carter. After Obama, American's wanted a competent manager that would put American's, not Syrians or illegals first. The dems gave us Hillary. the most corrupt candidate in American history as their candidate. The democrats paved the way for Trump. I didn't vote for him in the primaries but I had no choice in the general election. The dems own this one.

Excellent, but I can't just retire and do nothing, I'm used to working. Our generation will win, the next five generations will inherit the multi-trillion dollar social security and Medicare Ponzi schemes, the 20 trillion dollars of debt and a bloated government that sucks the life out of the working poor. Judgment day isn't that far off. If Trump does what Obama did, add 10 trillion dollars of debt, there will be consequences.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/07/opinions/reasoning-with-trump-voters-mallicote/index.htmlWe are too quick to vilify those on the opposite side of the political aisle. If I feel the urge to disparage Trump supporters as a group, I have to reconcile that urge with what I know about the Trump voters with whom I work, eat and pray. It was an interesting article but the guy's entire outlook is based on an invalid starting point. His final conclusion is that Trump voters got conned. Some of them may have but to be honest, the hard right folks were the one's who got conned here.
I did not vote for Trump in the primary. I did vote for Trump in the Presidential election and I did so for one simple reason. Hillary Clinton was the candidate for the DNC. Had the DNC put Sanders on their ticket (or really any number of other people who were not Clinton) then I probably would have voted for Johnson in the presidential election. I am not alone in voting this way.
The suggestion that vast numbers of people were conned by Trump's campaigning is just silly and condescending. It shows that the author of this article started from a position of believing that he was significantly smarter and knew significantly more than the people he was addressing. Most of he people I know who voted for Trump begrudgingly voted against Clinton not for Trump. I said before the election and my feeling on this stands to this day, there is a deep seeded loathing that borders on hatred for Hillary Clinton across this country. It has nothing to do with the fact she is a woman. It has nothing to do with the fact that she had a private server. People just don't like the woman. A significant number of them.

When Trump was convicted of fraud and was made to pay $25,000,000 by the court, that would have ended anyone else's campaign dead. And then there was the revelations and admission of sexual assault
John Edwards had to give up simply for having an affair
His voters overlooked everything criminal he did because they believed he was their savior from the dark skinned people they consider inferior
