The Republican Party, faced with the catastrophic real-world consequences of repealing the Affordable Care Act, is divided over how to proceed. Some nervous Republicans want to figure out what they want to put in place of Obamacare. Senator Mike Lee insists that Republicans repeal Obamacare first, before they decide on an alternative. And his reason is straightforward: If people saw the Republican alternative, they might not like it! “There is a lot less agreement about what comes next,” he tells reporters. “If we load down the repeal bill with what comes next, it’s harder to get both of them passed.” http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/02/republican-admits-why-gop-health-plan-must-remain-secret.html?mid=fb-share-di |

I thought it was secret, because it didn't exist. |

It's standard procedure to pass a major healthcare plan before anyone can read it or understand it. How else will we find out what's in it? It's soooooo funny watching the hypocrites cry about everything they so adamantly supported when Obama was in office.. Edited by PATruth, Feb 13 2017, 06:57 PM.

Well, at least they had a healthcare plan to be passed. All Republicans appear to have is smoke and mirrors. |

So you're saying a horrible piece of legislation, based on a mountain of lies, that has to be fixed before it collapses was worthy endeavor? I think we all know it makes fixing the system even more difficult. ObamaCare was forced through for one reason only, to give Obama a victory. Look how many dems in both Houses paid for that mistake.. Edited by PATruth, Feb 13 2017, 07:21 PM.

To be fair PA, as much as 20 million Americans now had insurance or were covered under new insurance plans that weren't covered before, thus it had its merits and it's better then anything we put up in the last 25 years... What did we ever come up with tax free health accounts, bout it. It's our fall back position. |

That was accomplished basically be expanding Medicaid. We didn't need a massive bureaucratic disaster to accomplish that. Then of course we were never told how much it cost per person? I'll guarantee they cost more than a Cadillac insurance plan Edited by PATruth, Feb 13 2017, 08:36 PM.

Perhaps...but I don't want to tell a person with a pre-existing condition that he's longer covered. Again our fall back position..in over 25 years.....tax free health accounts, which would be fine if you're just going to a doctor's office a couple times of year and getting flu shots. A 4 day stay in my old hospital would set you back 50,000.00 Edited by Tsalagi, Feb 13 2017, 08:50 PM.

Some of the diagnostic tests alone are over a grand depending on the reason for the test. If you're talking issues that could lead to emergency surgery it gets even worse. |
