Since Trump's supporters place ideology before reality they don't really care about the truth. So the opinions of the press are virtually meaningless and irrelevant to them. This is also why Trump frequently attacks the press, because he wishes to reduce its relevance and importance, simply because he can't control it.
"The White House struggled to answer questions Monday about President Trump’s unsubstantiated assertion that President Obama illegally wiretapped him during the 2016 campaign."
"James Comey, who remained FBI director after Trump's election, urged the Justice Dept. to publicly counter claims that President Obama ordered the tapping of Trump's phone last year. The wiretapping claims, which are unsubstantiated, may imply that the FBI broke the law."

"...now that he is in the White House, Trump is having to confront the threat of hacking, along with leaks from within his own administration — and, suddenly, he is not a fan. Trump and his aides have angrily railed against leakers, threatening to find and prosecute them and urging congressional allies to investigate, while being uncharacteristically quiet when it comes to WikiLeaks.
The latest sign of how the tables have turned came Tuesday when WikiLeaks announced that it had obtained a vast portion of the CIA’s closely guarded cyberweapons and began posting files online. The breach could cause massive fallout among U.S. allies and poses a serious challenge for Trump, who has been feuding with the intelligence community over probes into alleged ties between his campaign and Russia."

I see nothing which verifies that Comey asked the DOJ do that....The New York Times has many double dipping CIA agents working there and writing fake news....Journalists go down for very little money to create cheap thrills.............

This will result in massive management changes in the CIA...History shows that spy agencies are disbanded and are replaced when they get too big for their britches............

That is a better written article than the usual verbal diarrhea you quote from liberal think tanks....But for reality, I must inform you that this is not 1972.......

Yes - and how did the DOJ respond comrade?
Well this surely won't help media matters for old Trumpy:

No but perhaps you are.
Soon the chickens will be coming home to roost for old Trumpy:

"A new poll from Quinnipiac University suggests that while people may be broadly unhappy with the mainstream media, they still think it's more credible than Trump. The president regularly accuses the press of “fake news,” but people see more “fake news” coming out of his own mouth.
The poll asked who registered voters “trust more to tell you the truth about important issues.” A majority — 52 percent — picked the media. Just 37 percent picked Trump."

Frequently cited by journalists, public officials and researchers, the independent Quinnipiac University Poll regularly surveys residents in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and nationwide about political races, state and national elections, and issues of public concern, such as schools, taxes, transportation, municipal services and the environment.
Known for its exactness and thoroughness, the Quinnipiac poll is featured regularly in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and on national network news broadcasts. In 2010, respected public opinion polling analyst Nate Silver ranked the Quinnipiac University poll as most accurate among major polls conducting surveys in two states or more. The Quinnipiac poll was also called "the standout performer" by City and State for the most accurate prediction in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor in 2013.
The Asbury Park Press wrote, "The Quinnipiac University Poll is considered the gold standard in the business, frequently lauded by USA Today and other national media organizations for its information and accuracy."
For a typical public opinion survey, a randomly selected sample of about 1,000 registered voters age 18 and over is interviewed over five or six days. The polls are conducted at the Polling Institute on West Woods Road, close to the Mount Carmel and York Hill Campuses.
The Quinnipiac University Poll can be contacted at 203-582-5201 or by email.
Part of the problem is that polls also said Trump wasn't going to win , so out of 1000 people really!!!!!!!!! Sam
The fact is we, being Aliens, can't vote But when you have Governmental people ( the players- Debbie, Donna, Huma, Hillary) and a media pulling for one side, who you r going to trust? I guess the American voter!!! Uncle Sammy
The polls were actually reasonably accurate. The national polls were close. The problem is that they missed a couple very close states which were mostly toss-up or close which threw the Electoral College to Trump.
