The Argentine Football Association has postponed two top division matches that were due to take place on Friday following the collapse of negotiations to call off a players' strike.
Many clubs are facing a major financial crisis and have not paid salaries for several months.
The footballers' union says the strike will go on until the players received what they are owed.
The strike involves players of more than 200 Argentine clubs.
The two matches postponed were Rosario Central v Godoy Cruz, in the city of Rosario, and San Lorenzo v Belgrano, in Buenos Aires.

So, the Argentine soccer players are broke, haven't been paid in months. The government even kicked-in 22M bucks to the "Association." No luck. It didn't help. The players are quickly going to learn basic economic principles. They are "entertainers," and are not part of life's basic necessities. Not plumbers. Not engineers. Not accountants. Entertainers. Kinda like Hollycritters. Thirty bucks for a ticket, or thirty bucks for food on the table? Hmmm? Easy choice for most Argentinians.

To try to avoid the strike, the government of Mauricio Macri made a $22m (£18m) payment on Thursday to the Argentine Football Association.
The money was owed as compensation for the cancellation of a contract with the government, which held the broadcasting rights until this year.
But the players' union says the money is not enough.
They said most club presidents had spent and borrowed more money than they should have.

President Mauricio "Panama" Macri wants to privatize football broadcasting, giving the rights to...

...businessman Mauricio "Panama" Macri.

Of course, Macri would use strawmen, and foreign partners. Maybe, Ted Turner. Football broadcasting would be pay-per-view.

In any case, the players would be poor peasants. The BIG MONEY would go to Panama.

More about President Mauricio "Panama" Macri's modus operandi, here.

The government should never had the broadcasting rights in the first place.

Get the Argentinian government out of the soccer/football business!

Sure. But now, the fans will have to pay for viewing the matches.

They will get angry. They will blame Mauricio "Panama" Macri. And they will not vote for him.

Gol en contra, no?

Why you silly goose...!

Have you not heard of "advertising?" Here's what we'll do. We'll finance the entire football season by running continuous ads for discount vacations to, ...wait for it, ....Venezuela! We'll encourage all leftists watching the football programs (do you people get into football, by the way?) to take advantage of an extremely discounted vacation to tropical Venezuela. Before long, one leftist will tell another, who will tell another, and before long we'll have A-380 Airbuses filled to capacity with loony leftists and all headed to Margarita Island, or somesuch. They will , no doubt, immediately fall in love with Venezuelan socialism (good luck finding food... ) and decide to stay there! All of em! No more Macri...! They can even visit the tomb of the "flaming idiot of Venezuela" ...Hugo Chavez! Before long we will entice all of South America's leftists to go to Venezuela and help create "Paradise on Earth!" No one will work, because EVERYONE will be expecting a hand-out from the government. Socialism at its finest. Strikes all day, every day, standing in line for food 24/7 and listening to how wonderful their lives are by watching Telesur television. Paradise on earth.

No, the old Generals flew the "commies"(*) to the River Plate. To the bottom.

The American CIA provided the "Air Traffic Control" (Plan Condor).

s**tty airline/service. A lot of commies remained here. And here we stay.

Para cagar a Mauricio Macri.

Soccer: Infantino confident Argentina will escape suspension
Quote:

Argentina are close to resolving a row that could have seen the former world champions suspended, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Thursday.

FIFA told the Argentine FA (AFA) this month that it risked a ban if it did not accept South American soccer's governing body CONMEBOL as arbiter in vetting candidates for a March 29 presidential election.

The AFA had voted last month to modify an article in its new statutes naming the College of Lawyers of Buenos Aires and not CONMEBOL’s ethics committee as the vetting body.

College of Lawyers of Buenos Aires = Mauricio "Panama" Macri's strawmen. Sorry, Mauricio: no gol there.

Anyways, the Football matches broadcasting will be pay-per-view. 300 pesos per month, the basic (no HD), after the rumor.

The Roman Empire used the Bread and Circuses formula. Now, Mauricio "Panama" Macri tries a "a novelty variation": No Bread and No Circuses.

Will it work?

Yes! If it's based on common sense, capitalistic principles.

If the football players in Argentina want to get paid, then they have to rely on their fans to foot the bill. (get it? ...foot the bill?... )

Their is NO free lunch, even in Argentina.

Argentina football fan dies after being pushed from stand

An Argentine football fan has died of head injuries - two days after being pushed from a stand by an angry crowd who thought he was a rival supporter.

Emanuel Balbo (centre) was pushed over the edge of a stand on Saturday

Video:

The proper authorities are going to do nothing about this, beyond some pathetic lip service. Because in the (under)world of Argentine soccer, money is more important than Human Life. The show (and the business) must go on.

President Mauricio "Panama" Macri comes from that (under)world.
