A wave of protests inspired by the opposition activist Aleksey Navalny, some green-lighted and some not by the local authorities, took place across Russia.

The biggest of them took place in Moscow. There some 8,000 people took part and some 600 people were detained by police.

Drudge, I would support the idea and the cause of these protests but not their leaders (there were no opposition politicians except Navalny, if I am not mistaken). And Navalny is an American puppet who first opposed reunification of Crimea with Russia - to please his masters, but later finally realized that he has no chances in Russia with such views and corrected them. Anyway, I may support any opposition except Western puppets and I think most Russians share my opinion.
This is the reason there were so few protesters...
By the way, the funny fact is that this time the protests formal cause was corruption of pro-Western prime-minister Medvedev. After 90-s "a democrat" is a swear word in Russia, since all pro-western thiefs in power were calling themselves democrats.... Democracy is deeply discredited in Russia due to devastation these American puppet thiefs made in 90s. it's a tragedy, by the way.. but on the other had it may be called just being de-illusioned :) There's no democracy in the US too, just people are more brainwashed, due to still facing too little problems to realize. though, there's some progress... :)

Russia protests: Detained Navalny demands PM be questioned
Quote:

Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, has made a defiant appearance in court following his detention at mass protests on Sunday.

He said the court should be summoning PM Dmitry Medvedev for questioning.
Quote:

Mr Medvedev's spokeswoman called the allegations against him "propagandistic attacks".

When asked how he spent Sunday, the prime minister said simply on Instagram: "Had a good day, I went skiing", and posted a smiley face.

Young protesters were promised money if they managed to get themselves arrested....If Navalny had incriminating evidence on Medledev, he would have already died of lead poisoning.............

I just wonder, why Americans don't protest against corruption, since the US and Russia are equial in this regard? any explanation would be not in Americans favour... :)

So, Navalny was fined for $350 for illegal protest and arrested for 15 days for resisting detention. Of course Putin is violating constitution which allows protests not agreed upon from authorities, one must just inform local authorities he wants to protest at certain place. Local authorities may propose some other place if protests disrupt traffic or pose some danger to public. Usually authorities propose some places much farer from city center which opposition wants - opposition usually rejects.
This time Navalny submitted papers for several simultaneous protests in several places but with the same organizers, so authorities rejected his request on formal cause.
Putin violates constitution formally but Navalny also just works for the Western brainwashing machine, makes everything nesessary to get detained and arrested so that some BBC could talk about brutal oppression by bloody Putin, and Western zombies could think that they live in better countries and not protest about their own corruption. :)

Jar, Finland is not even a puppet, it has always been someones property, your 100 years of independence (in which you were really independent only after WWII till 2000s, being neutral) is a whim of the History, just in this period your former masters were thinking you are not worth to be the fought for :)

By the way, that duck - is it camouflaged Trump? I would initiate questioning him on another link to Russia

exactly, much better to be shot dead in the US or some France without any reason and later to be brutally suppressed while protesting than to protest in Russia and get detained for 3 hours... :)

Do you watch US news? or it's just amnesia...
