http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/03/30/venezuela-supreme-court-takes-over-congress-saying-it-is-in-contempt.html In what is being called a point of no return, Venezuela's Supreme Court took over legislative powers Thursday, effectively shutting down the opposition-controlled Congress. "As long as the National Assembly's contempt of court and invalidity persist, parliamentary powers shall be exercised directly by (the Supreme Court's) constitutional chamber or by the body it stipulates to safeguard the rule of law," the high court said in the ruling, issued late Wednesday. In the ruling, the government-stacked Supreme Court argues that the congress is in contempt of court for swearing in three opposition lawmakers from the state of Amazonas who have been accused of electoral fraud. The court said it will take over all “parliamentary capacities” until the conflict is resolved. |

Having watched Venezuela lo these many years, and still having a business partner down there, I can tell you this, ...this is a complete catastrophe. It is South American socialism at its most destructive. Venezuela, one of the richest oil countries on this here earth, with the largest oil reserves in the world (stop here and ponder all of this for a moment.....), is in a total death spiral reminiscent of Nazi Germany after World War II. Massive poverty, hunger, with the infrastructure in total collapse, non-functioning medical facilities and a hopelessness that equals Jews standing outside the crematoriums at Auschwitz. All because of, .....socialism. Mozart |

The best run countries in the world, like Norway to Singapore, have more robust and generuos social systems rightwingers want to brand SOCIALIST! These types (anti-social misers) simply hate the entire idea of paying taxes for anything It wasn't ''socialism'', it was Chavez, and worse, Maduro and their arrogant ineptitude Like Trump Edited by Attaburnsinhell, Mar 31 2017, 09:58 AM.

I don't know about Singapore but legal immigration to Norway is significantly difficult and illegal immigration is not tolerated. They have made a special case for refugees but some of that is required of them by their various European Economic Area agreements. If you were to get on a boat from here and try to illegally immigrate to Norway they would send you packing once they caught you and that would happen pretty soon. The whole point of this is that the type of social systems you are talking about require stiff immigration limits. Only legal citizens of Norway are covered by their social systems. |

Both of the examples Atta mentioned are going well despite socialism, not because of it. |

Hugo Chavez was a socialist, pure and simple. He spoke about his economic plans all the time, always invoking the term 'socialism.' Maduro is an illiterate off-child of Chavez, who has a below room temperature IQ. In short, a slobbering socialist idiot. Chavez was a clown, a man who had his pockets stuffed with real dollars and proceeded to pound his chest on the world stage. To Moscow. To Iran. To Libya. To Cuba. A despicable narcissist. He utterly and completely destroyed Venezuela, its history, its culture, its people. Mozart |

The reason for Maduro and his fellow imbeciles quickly backpeddling on their "dictatorship law" is money, 2.b billion smackers. Really. To Wall Street. People are dying of hunger and the Maduro government is gonna send another 2.5 billion to Wall Street. In less than 10 days Venezuela has to come-up with yet another bond interest payment. Pressure! Seizure of all world assets. The problem, of course, is now they are really well and truly broke and have only ONE source for borrowing these funds to prevent a COMPLETE economic collapse, i.e. a default. That source is Russia and Putin. For the past 3 years the slobbering IDIOTS running the Venezuelan government have been paying interest on their bonds to the tune of nearly 60 billion dollars over a three year period. All that money gone, ...poof..!, to pay the capitalists on Wall Street. It's hilarious! It's unbelievable. You can't make this stuff up! Avowed socialists/communists paying Wall Street 60 billion bucks, when everyone was telling them that they were going to default ANYWAY, they kept paying, and paying. The people of Venezuela have no medicines, food is so scarce that they are rummaging through garbage cans and children are dying because of malnutrition, yet, ...yet, the Maduro government keeps paying bond payments to Wall Streeters! Wow. Step back and ponder that for a couple of hours. And now, ...now, they are headed for default. No money left, only the Russians. Panic has set in. That's the real story here. It's fascinating to watch what is about to happen in Venezuela. All/most of the Venezuelan ex-pats are up in arms. They want action now. They want demonstrations for real liberty (unlike those constant and boring protests that the leftists in, oh, say, Argentina do every day.) and want the Maduro government to be overthrown. Out! Go! Here is my favorite Venezuelan ex-pat, Gabriela Montero, doing a Mozart piece. Grab a cup of coffee, put your feet up and listen to Gabriela do Mozart...! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfgTd91uHuU Mozart (the other one) |
