China is the only country with any influence on that North Korean Psyco. Hopefully, they'll intercede, the scary part is Trump quickly painted himself into a corner on North Korea as if that was his intention, which was not a wise move. We both remember the Cuban missile crisis in late 62, this one appears worse, perhaps much worse. We'll find out soon enough. |

No, Trump shoved China into a corner. Tame your boy, no more lip service or Trump will come knocking. There's a new sheriff in town. His name isn't Obama. |

Trump seems to be a risky guy and a bluffer.A risky bluffer... And since Democrats have broken him - the rest will also do. I mean yes, every year China becomes stronger and will finally topple the US and it will simply destroy the US economy, which is too addicted to printing money and issuing debt, and it depends on the US Dollar being the World trade and reserve currency. So, the US needs to attack China and to do it the day before yesterday. But the US has lost its chances already. Any big war the US starts, either against Russia or China will stop the US from being number one. Edited by Siberian, Apr 11 2017, 07:56 AM.

"No, Trump shoved China into a corner." That's like blaming the parents of a bank robber for their lack of parenting skills. |

Trump's desperate for distractions, he needs to take the media, and especially congresses attention, off him, and put it on someone even crazier and more desperate than he is. Currently, only two other men in the entire world fit that description, Assad and Kim Jong-un. I doubt Trump's bluffing because he's desperate. Meaning, if he has to destroy the world to save himself from further humiliation in the press, he's fully capable of doing so. Especially since the GOP was kind enough to give him that authority, all in the name of conservative values you understand. Edited by 70-101, Apr 11 2017, 10:04 AM.

It would be reasonable if he distracts attention using some defensless "evil" country like Serbia. But instead in Syria he risks war with Russia, in N.Korea he risks nuclear war. In both cases he will hardly enjoy consequences, including consequences at home. His approach is quite questionable, i.e. these 2 adventures and general line to more bullying can hardly be successful. More likely he will aggrevate his situation. But now he lost many supporters. But we'll see. Edited by Siberian, Apr 11 2017, 10:22 AM.

Both China and Russia is too big to militarily defeat, but so to is the USA....We can only fight each other economically, which will only make us all richer....The recent economic sanctions against Russia illustrates my point....Russia economy has become more diverse, self sufficient, and broad based...If the USA restricts and reduces trade with China, we will have similar benefits, yet China will not be hurt because they will increase domestic markets and consumption....Trade mainly benefits small countries and multinational corporations..................

The only people who are really threatened here are those in South Korea and possibly Japan. Obviously the preferred option would be for China to have some of it's agents in NK forcibly retire their current dictator and then establish a new government in that country. The regular citizens of NK are the folks who really lose in any conflict just as the lose if we do nothing. They are living in some of the worst conditions there are. For more than 90% of the citizenry of that nation living in poverty in the USA would seem like a life of luxury. I don't know if the Chinese will work with us on him or not. Obviously we would have to make some concession in order for them to do with but it would certainly be nice if they would. We have to ability to remove his nuclear arsenal if we want to but it will be expensive and bloody and I don't think it is the best option if it can be avoided. Attacking a nuclear country can be suicidal....No one is certain that North Korea doesn't have a nuke in a basement in Washington DC and Sarin gas at several Kim Chi restaurants around the US...Assassinating or deposing Kim Jong Un does not mean their weapons threat is neutralized any more than ours was when Nixon was forced out of office....All the sane leaders in North Korea were eliminated....We are dealing with a government run by all nut cases..............

No, that's the way foreign policy should work. If one country has intention to resolve a crisis and the other two kept on giving the finger, then it's time to use some leverage and push one into a corner. |

One again, it's called decisive leadership. I know, strange to see a president with leadership skills after 8 years of leading from behind by Obama. It's also good to see leftists are siding with Kim Jon-Un. |

A desisive leadership is when you attack somebody with no consequence to yourself, otherwise it's a crazy adventure or a crime against own nation, depending on the results. Don't forget example of your beloved Hitler

The US risks losing Japan and SKorea as allies in this case, as well it's aquestionable solutn since it makes your biggest rival stronger ![]() If left alone N.Korea is much less a problem for the US, I wonder why this idea has not occured to the US. |

Reagan's glorious invasion of Grenada was an excellent example of decisive leadership without risk of consequences....Perhaps Trump should have attacked Monaco with cruise missiles for cheating Americans in the casino............. :oyvey |
