So do I get to deduct my bar bill....or not?
The good stuff, yes!

"Proof" required.
Actually I don't go to the bars anymore. But here's how I figure it. If I occasionally bag up a bunch of beer cans and sell them for scrap aluminum.....As a professional recycler, I should be able to deduct the original cost of the beer....Right? Makes sense to me.

Too few Americans are working

We're near what most economists consider full employment

too many jobs have been shipped overseas

8+ American jobs are being replaced by automation for every one that goes abroad. Most of the ones that have been outsourced are low wage, repetitive tasks that few Americans want to do.

too many middle class families cannot make ends meet.

Because wages have not kept pace with costs. This is not due to taxes.

1.Tax relief for middle class Americans: In order to achieve the American dream, let people keep more money in their pockets and increase after-tax wages.

Investors and corporations benefit from this plan, workers not so much, and the 'middle class cuts' are only temporary. By year 8 almost everyone is paying more, except the super rich.

2.Simplify the tax code to reduce the headaches Americans face in preparing their taxes and let everyone keep more of their money.

It isn't any simpler, and the last minute additions are going to need revision, which will add millions in accounting costs and legal fees.

3.Grow the American economy by discouraging corporate inversions, adding a huge number of new jobs, and making America globally competitive again.

America is globally competitive in many areas. We aren't going to take back low wage manufacturing, and frankly, we don't want it. Global trade is the path to prosperity, not candy for real estate investors.

4.Doesn’t add to our debt and deficit, which are already too large.
It adds at least $1t, probably more. No one supporting this bill can claim fiscal responsibility. It's reckless self-interest by the .01% at the expense of citizens.

Miserable failure.

The middle class tax cuts are temporary, in order to keep the deficit within the $1.4T limit required for the senate to pass the bill under reconciliation.

However, Republicans are claiming that the middle class doesn't have to worry, because the cuts will likely be renewed by a future congress. In other words, they have found a way to increase the deficit beyond the $1.4T, with a simple majority.

And they wonder why the young people that will have to pay for this, don't like them.
Without geometry, life is pointless.
