The U.S. is prepared to launch a preemptive strike with conventional weapons against North Korea should officials become convinced that North Korea is about to follow through with a nuclear weapons test, multiple senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.

North Korea has warned that a "big event" is near, and U.S. officials say signs point to a nuclear test that could come as early as this weekend.

Kim Jong-un made a rare public appears today, for a few minutes, simply to cut a red ribbon, then he high-tailed it out of town in his Mercedes limo a few minutes later.

I watched him closely on CNN, he had the distinct look of fear on his face, as if he knows perhaps from Chinese intel, that he's about to get his A$$ kicked. Complements of heavies out of Guam and everything the Carl Vincent can throw at him, which is a great deal.

The little lunatic has promised a direct response if his nation is attacked, meaning he'll shell South Korea if he does Trump has no choice other then to level North Korea. Credible U.S. intel sources have told the press it's show time. I believe this to be true. I also believe China is aware of this and will take no retaliatory actions, otherwise, Trump wouldn't jump.

God bless America and South Korea, its show time.

The MOAB dropped in Afghanistan today may have been a message to NK. The fact that it took out an terrorist cave complex was a plus.

Get real. Trump is cleaning up the mess started by Bill Clinton.

A military strike on North Korea is a bad idea....This would be the first attack in history on a country with nuclear weapons....So many things could go horribly wrong........ :oyvey

Oh, another American agression with no approval from the UN! It's not that Russia wants another nuclear power at all and specifically at our border, but the US agression will be noted, condemned and used as a precedent, when we need to whipe present president of Ukraine out or use our bombers to stop Ukrainian advance in Donetsk if this happens.
Besides, the use of nuclear weapons was a taboo for too long, while we rely on our nuclear arsenal more than in USSR time, while there may be need in it in coming years if situation in Ukraine and possible Rusia-NATO conflict goes ugly.
So, Donald, go for it! We need mini nuclear war! Again, if South Korea is destroyed it will be quite a blow to Western globalisation and economy. I start thinking he' Putin's agent indeed.. :)
Kim, stay strong!! :)
But we'll condemn it, of course :)

I pray for Kim to nuke Tokyo. If Trump manages to achieve it I will put his picture on my wall... :)
And the brave North Korean paratroopers will land in Hawaii to support alleged Russian invasion to Alaska!

But, talking seriously, we have 2 possible explanation of the agressive US madness we watch last 20 years, and especially last 10 years.
1) The US elite knowing that the US economy is heading to Dollar system collapse with consequent chaos and most probably loss of power by present elite - destroys the rest of the World, on purpose seeding chaos and putting others even lower than future US bottom will be.
2) The US elite still keeps illusion the US is almighty, illusion it got after USSR was self-destroyed and tries to stick to this image whatever the cost is even if every attempt of imposing pax Americana even on small countries generally fails, creating chaos there. The outcome usually leads even to greater disbelief in US capabilities and disrespect, but since reality is rejected - the US needs more and more objects to be terrorized to cope with growing disrespect.
It's a spyrall down, but the US elite including Trump does not understand it. The opinion "we'll handle this one and the others will line up themselves" prevails one time after another , while reality is opposite.
Well, we'll see how NKorea crisis is resolved.
After all, I may be wrong, I'm quite interested myself to check how true my assessment is... :)
But generally Trump has almost cornered himself. Claiming firm position he cannot abandon it without certain loss of reputation. He has done it already on several of his points, if hecretreats in NKorea it wull be a catastrophe to him, but Kim may still test a nuke. Trump is really very unexperienced. What was consudered by many as weakness of Obama was rather wisdom.

As an aside, 30-odd Tomahawks to put a Syrian airbase out of action for less than 24 hours seems pretty expensive and wasteful. The missiles cost way, way more money than the damage they caused.

Bit like the MOAB... all that money for 30 kills??? Well then, Trump always was a loud mouth that likes being loud on the international stage.

Seems like whenever Trump gets domestic hassle he reaches for making a noise abroad, bit like Clinton.

If the US attacks NK, then you get million upon millions of refugee Koreans swarming over the Chinese border - Pekin will not be a happy bunny.

Cheers

So President less than 100 days and he's already bombed Syria, Afghanistan, and is threatening to attack North Korea. He ran on a platform of less violent involvement around the globe and repeatedly advocated Obama not commit the kinds of attacks he's just finished committing.

And his supporters are all like, "move along, nothing to see here..."

You have to understand that Trump supporters, like Bush supporters before them (probably the same crew) don't recognised idiocy - they're idiocy blind - the embarrassing question is... why? Well, actually, the answer is embarrassing rather than the question.

It's bad enough that they don't recognize idiocy when it is staring them right in the face. It's even worse when they're all like, "the man is brilliant! He's playing 4D chess! He's masterful! He's a political genius!" when it is obvious to anyone watching him with any kind of impartiality that he's just kind of wandering around from topic to topic, somewhat confused, and changing his stand on things more often than most people change their socks.

The first half of the title seems fine. It's the second half tag on that smacks of the little left yippy dog mentality that is irritating. Trump is proving to be the president with the largest kahunas since Teddy Roosevelt. The only guy since then that has manned up to China, Russia, and North Korea. The left is frightened of this so they nervously comment.

Well, if you think throwing bombs at people from the safety of Washington, with little regard for the consequence, short or long term, means someone has "kahunas", then I guess Trump is your guy.
