I think most people want the Congress to stop the bs fighting over whether the law is their political cup of tea and try for once to make it work as well as it can be made to work. |

Republicans don't actually care what the majority of Americans want. If they did, then Trump wouldn't be President. |

White House to Dems: We’ll continue paying ObamaCare subsidies; http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/330715-wh-to-dems-well-continue-paying-obamacare-subsidies "The Trump administration will continue paying controversial ObamaCare subsidies to help low-income patients, officials have told Capitol Hill Democrats. The move marks something of a shift for President Trump, who had threatened earlier this month to withhold the subsidies — known as cost-sharing reductions — as a way move Democrats to negotiate on a healthcare overhaul. But the issue had threatened to derail the ongoing talks on government funding legislation that Congress must act on this week." |

Wrong, neither can the conservatives or the party line Republicans: The fate of the American Health Care Act in the House now rests with GOP moderates; https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/04/moderates-can-now-sink-or-save-the-republican-health-care-bill/524400 "With conservatives endorsing an amendment to the party’s Obamacare replacement plan, the legislation’s fate rests with the GOP’s most politically vulnerable members." The new Freedom Caucus-friendly amendment to the AHCA only makes its problems worse; https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/04/american-health-care-act-amendment-costs/524340 "Instead of fixing its core issues, a potential new amendment to the bill only highlights the problems with the effort to replace Obamacare." |

In the business world, when something's broken, you fix it. In the political world, when something's broken, you use it to get votes and campaign contributions. |

The Republicans are in the process of giving up on repealing ObamaCare: New ObamaCare repeal bill on life support; http://thehill.com/homenews/house/330966-new-obamacare-repeal-bill-on-life-support "The tide is quickly turning against the new ObamaCare repeal legislation. At least 21 Republicans have said they would vote “no” on the revised GOP healthcare bill negotiated by centrist Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-N.J.) and conservative Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.)." The Hill's Whip List: 17 GOP no votes on new ObamaCare bill; http://thehill.com/homenews/news/330717-the-hills-whip-list-who-to-watch-on-gops-new-obamacare-bill "House Republicans have an updated bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare, and The Hill has a new whip list. The Hill’s latest count shows 17 Republicans opposed to the revised GOP health bill. The new bill includes an amendment that would allow states to opt out of key ObamaCare rules. The change is winning over conservatives but many centrists are expressing new concerns. Republicans can afford no more than 22 defections. Here's the most up-to-date list of how GOP lawmakers stand on the ObamaCare repeal and replace legislation." Edited by La Pasionaria, Apr 27 2017, 07:14 PM.

Everything is going according to plan, where Obamacare morphs into Trumpcare, and the pet hamsters pay higher premiums for lesser coverage....If you are elderly and want real health insurance, be prepared to pay over a $1,000 per month for you and your wife in Medicare and supplemental coverage .............

$1,000 / month is pretty cheap compared to the Obamacare quotes I got last September. |

There is nothing to fix - Obamacare is DOA If Obama understood the healthcare market - he would be working for one of the many companies providing it. INstead he became a community organizer. Edited by estonianman, Apr 29 2017, 01:22 PM.

You must be in your early 60s or late 50s, pre-Medicare....That is not a sweet spot...Now you know why many people don't retire until age 65....I retired at age 58 only because I had a career in government...........

Trump says coverage of pre-existing conditions will be in healthcare plan; http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/331288-trump-says-coverage-of-pre-existing-conditions-will-be-in-healthcare "President Trump in an interview that aired Sunday said coverage of pre-existing conditions will be included in the GOP's healthcare plan. Trump told CBS's "Face the Nation" that pre-existing conditions are "in the bill." "Pre-existing conditions are in the bill. And I mandate it. I said, 'Has to be,'" the president said. When pressed further on whether there's a guarantee that people with pre-existing medical conditions would be able to get coverage under the American Health Care Act, Trump said: "We actually have a clause that guarantees." Trump: I won't touch 'concept of Medicare'; http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/331292-trump-im-not-going-to-touch-medicare "President Trump during an interview that aired Sunday said he will not touch the "concept of Medicare." "I'm not going to touch it, because I said it," the president said during an interview on CBS's "Face The Nation." "Now, waste, fraud and abuse, I'm going to touch. If there's something in Medicare that's been abused, I will touch that." |

Why Trumpcare Keeps Failing http://www.newyorker.com/news/ryan-lizza/why-trumpcare-keeps-failing "On Thursday, for the second time in a month, House Republicans announced that they were cancelling a vote on a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare. This time, the measure under consideration was a compromise bill, worked out over several weeks of negotiations between two Republicans: Mark Meadows, a North Carolinian and the head of the right-wing Freedom Caucus; and Tom MacArthur, a New Jerseyan who is co-chair of the Tuesday Group, a coalition of more centrist House Republicans. In late March, opposition from the Freedom Caucus torpedoed the G.O.P.’s initial push to replace Obamacare. The theory now was that if the leaders of these two groups—a right-winger from the South and a businessman from the Northeast—could reach a compromise on an amended version of the bill, then the measure would be able to attract the two hundred and sixteen votes it needs to pass the House." |

The vast majority of Americans also didn't want health insurance premiums to quadruple with Obamacare, but it happened. |

Trumpcare is inevitable because Obamacare has a terminal illness, like cancer cells run amok....The inherent cost growth in Obamacare will kill it..............

The Conservative promise is dissipating, as we speak: It's now the Republican loyalists who are dooming the Obamacare repeal bill, @russellberman reports: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/05/republican-loyalists-are-dooming-obamacare-repeal/525150/ "For the second time, GOP leaders have lost the support of a key House veteran for the American Health Care Act at a critical juncture." Are older voters holding back Republicans from supporting the AHCA?; https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/05/older-voters-ahca-republicans/525048/ "Republican members of Congress who oppose the Obamacare replacement have something in common: Their constituents—who tend to be older—fear losing benefits." GOP bill hung up on pre-existing conditions; http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/331632-gop-bill-hung-up-on-pre-existing-conditions "Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) on Tuesday became the latest House Republican to come out against the ObamaCare repeal bill, underlining how the legislation is losing support from lawmakers who fear it could hurt people with pre-existing health conditions. Some lawmakers expressed doubts that the healthcare bill would come up for a vote this week, despite a push from leaders to get it to the floor before a one-week recess."
