Never mind the costs
Right. Checkmate.
Full sentence - "Never mind the costs that are involved in healthcare above and beyond the cost of insurance. Your dishonesty is noted. Your checkmate your white flag. You're down to dishonesty. That may be checkmate but not for you.
You don't care about cost - because it is the center of this debate which you are losing. Do you even know what I'm talking about?
Have you ever seen an itemized bill from a hospital? You general physician? Your surgeon.? Surgical assistants? Anesthesiologists? Hospital and private pharmacies. Labs? Physical Therapy? Home medical equipment? And...
I could fill the page.

Government rationing this care will only result in shortages - that isn't the answer.
Another example - I had some enamel replaced on a tooth, 20 minute procedure - cosmetic really.
Cost to me was $20 - they billed my insurance $291
Insurance should cover catastrophic care only - not electable procedures. Its complicated - but that's a start.

Quoting limited to 5 levels deep
Millions are covered today that were not. Millions that could not afford insurance before hand now can. In addition such things as pre-existing and caps to mention but two, all addressed. For some it did not work out so well. So fix it but not by throwing millions out of access to medical care. Why is that your only way forward?
Getting people off government dependency is the way forward. I am willing to compromise and say it shouldn't be done all at once - rather through a transition.
I'm fine with everyone being able to pay their own way. How do we make that happen with access to healthcare?
By allowing a healthy, competitive healthcare system. My wife had an MRI the other day - out of pocket the cost was $100 but insurance was billed $1100. This needs to be addressed. You have insurance.
But what if you could not afford insurance. For some even that one hundred dollars is out of reach.
And you forget the additional costs. Your wife was referred for that MRI - cost of general physician? With some procedures you pay to have those 'films' read. Then if there is a need there is the next step that may involve the cost of a hospital stay or day surgery. Medicine. P.T.
And that is not the end of that list.
And I hope none of that come to fruition and everything is fine.

But even something as simple as a cavity getting filled if not tended to due to cost becomes a much larger medical issues.
A regular checkup can go a long way to cutting larger costs. But if you can't afford that physical...

Giving birth used to be affordable - then someone during the 90's decided to mandate that insurance carriers cover the cost.
Its now over $20k and almost every birth "requires" a caesarean.
Socialists and bureaucrats have no clue how the market works, and in the end they increase the cost on everyone. Look at higher education, off topic but very related. They decide to cosign every college loan then over the course of a decade costs increase 10 fold.

McCain will screw up everything from now until his death, because he is absolutely bonkers. I respect my uncle with severe Alzheimer's. Doesn't mean I put him in charge of my finances.
But you are correct... I have little respect for baby boomers. Never has so much been given handed down to so few and produced so little.
McCain has been set free of any required political correctness with his diagnosed brain tumor. He was able to cast his vote with a clean conscience to protect even the likes of you from the irresponsible acts of a toadying Congress.
You probably should send him a thank you card, b.

You know, you have to appreciate Fashy's upfront honesty..."can't afford it, f**k em, they're riff raff anyway" He's "upfront honest" in an anonymous posting board. He admits to living in a city that he hates enough to want the people in it to die. He took a two week tour of Japan and thinks it makes him an expert on the social structures.
You at one time hated where you lived too and you did something about it besides whine. That was honest. There isn't anything honest about Fashy.
