CA leftists made it too costly for the state to hire people. Nestle left the state earlier this year and moved to VA. And oh, did I mention that the big these auto companies, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan also left CA. Edited by Drudge X, Jul 27 2017, 10:54 AM.

Toyota moved it's headquarters to Plano (Dallas area) and recently had it's Grand Opening. LINK 4000 employees....approx 3000 coming in from other states, mostly California and about 1000 local hires Add to that all of the support businesses and jobs it brings. For a company to move it's long time national HQ has to tell you something...

California already had an overheated economy that is reflected in its real estate values and unemployment. It doesn't need to grow fast. In fact, it probably doesn't want to. It should be noted that "mining" includes oil and gas production and that is what is driving that category. |

One day Texas will run out of resources to exploit and their economy will really hit the crapper. |

Yes but by that time we will all be dead from Climate Change..... Meanwhile back in the real world.... Feds: More recoverable oil in West Texas than previously thought The U.S. Geological Survey has made its largest discovery of recoverable crude ever under parts of West Texas, the federal agency announced Tuesday. A recent assessment found the “Wolfcamp shale” geologic formation in the Midland area holds an estimated 20 billion barrels of accessible oil along with 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 1.6 billion barrels of natural gas liquids. That’s three times higher than the amount of recoverable crude the agency found in the Bakken-Three Forks region in the upper midwest in 2013, making it “the largest estimated continuous oil accumulation that USGS has assessed in the United States to date,” according to a statement. “The fact that this is the largest assessment of continuous oil we have ever done just goes to show that, even in areas that have produced billions of barrels of oil, there is still the potential to find billions more,” said Walter Guidroz, program coordinator for the USGS Energy Resources Program. Guidroz attributed that potential to “changes in technology” — i.e., the advent and perfection of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling. Such advances “can have significant effects on what resources are technically recoverable,” he said. LINK Edited by clone, Jul 27 2017, 12:13 PM.

Relying on the exploitation of natural resources to keep an economy moving is fraught with peril. When the price associated with those natural resources is high, the economy is booming. When the price is low, the economy tends to stall. Texas goes through boom and bust cycles all the time. That's unlikely to change as long as it relies on the exploitation of natural resources as its primary economic factor. |

What??? This overheated economy you are talking about is in the tech sector where the little guy, you know the ones leftist trying to help, are left out. You should be angry at companies like Amazon, Google, Yahoo, Apple, and Facebook for refusing to hire minorities besides Asians. |

No reversal. California's economy is excellent. Texas' economy is good, but is overly reliant on the exploitation of natural resources that can become scarce or can vary greatly in their value, leading Texas to having a much more volatile economy than California. But with a population of 39 million, California is getting damn crowded. |
