They are going to have to do a 'stand down' soon but how do you stand down ships at sea?

And sure enough as I'm typing the news crawl says that there will be a one day operational pause.

Seriously, what is going on with these US Navy collisions with merchant vessels. This is now two in just a few months.
I also find this rather disturbing. I wonder if there isn't some systemic problem with the 7th fleet. Most of duties of a Naval vessel a sea involve being able to detect and identify aircraft, ships, and submarines within their sphere of operations. The fact that two U.S. Naval vessels have collided with tankers, which are huge craft by most any definition, indicates that someone, somewhere isn't doing their job.

That's a problem. There is more going on here than meets the eye.

may I propose an obvious answer?

Russian hackers

I wonder why it has not occured to you yet... 2 US ships one by one, there must not be an insider or own problem, there must be some Russians responcible

Russia may have sold a cloaking device to China. China is trying to establish hegemony over the South China Sea. Navy disasters discredit the USA. Putin has a cute smile.
while South China sea belongs to the US, of course.... which is situated over the oceans...

you make too much trouble for everybody and it's good it has a price for you
