Seoul Responds to North Korea Nuclear Test With Drills to ‘Wipe Out’ Kim Jong-un; Posted 4:34 AM, September 4, 2017, by CNN Wire, Updated at 05:32AM, September 4, 2017

The crisis on the Korean peninsula intensified on Monday as South Korea said it appeared the North was preparing to launch more missiles after the test of a hydrogen bomb at the weekend.

Seoul responded with a series of live-fire drills, intended as a show of military might, and boosted the deployment of a controversial US-made missile defense system, THAAD.

South Korea also said the US planned to strengthen its military presence in the region with an aircraft carrier and more bombers.

James Mattis, the US defense secretary, said any threat from North Korea to the US or its territories such as the Pacific archipelago of Guam, would be met with a “massive military response.”

At this point, I have no idea what any of the parties involved hope to accomplish. N.K. has made it abundantly clear that their leader is mentally unstable and cannot be intimidated by threats of military force. The U.S. has made it as abundantly clear that their leader is mentally unstable and may unexpectedly respond with military force. The problem is, military force just makes the situation worse and opens the door to N.K. and China joining forces.

And yet military force seems to be all anyone is talking about.

Wishful thinking is pleasant, of course, but one must not allow it to influence an assessment.
Why is Kim mentally unstable? His actions cannot be more level-headed, reasonable and whatever.
The only way for North Korea to prevent American agression is to act as it is acting now. In all other cases the US would have been already bombing poor Koreans.
The US is a thug which understands ONLY language of force. Which Kim had to master.

Certainly obtaining nuclear weapons makes sense from the N.K. perspective. But this constant saber rattling on N.K.'s part? Makes no sense at all. You don't have to keep threatening the world with nuclear destruction to ensure your safety as a nation. Constantly trying to provoke someone like Donald Trump make actually lead to provoking him, and then all hell breaks loose and nobody wins.

Does Kim demand the US to get rid of nuclear weapons threatening you with agression otherwise? :) Initially Korea has done nothing agressive, all sabre rattrling of North Koreans is just a response. If US propagabda presents it lije "Korean agression" it doesn't mean a reasonable man must follow this lie. Who is the agressor really matters and how Kim responds to it - not that much, the main thing is if he's successful in preventing US attack and I think he is :)

Trump’s options on North Korea going from bad to worse
Quote:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sanctions on North Korea have been tried, and failed. Serious negotiations seem like a pipedream. And any military strike would almost surely bring mass devastation and horrific civilian casualties.

The Trump administration’s options are going from bad to worse as Kim Jong Un’s military marches ever closer to being able to strike the U.S. mainland with nuclear weapons. Just as President Donald Trump seeks to show global resolve after the North’s most powerful nuclear test, his leverage is limited even further by new tensions he’s stoked with South Korea, plus continued opposition from China and Russia.

In this photo provided by South Korea Defense Ministry, South Korea’s Hyunmoo II ballistic missile is fired during an exercise at an undisclosed location in South Korea, Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. In South Korea, the nation’s military said it conducted a live-fire exercise simulating an attack on North Korea’s nuclear test site to “strongly warn” Pyongyang over the latest nuclear test. Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the drill involved F-15 fighter jets and the country’s land-based “Hyunmoo” ballistic missiles. The released live weapons “accurately struck” a target in the sea off the country’s eastern coast, the JCS said. (South Korea Defense Ministry via AP)

Trump ought to bitch slap this S Korea president. He was trying so hard not to piss Kim Jong Un off prior to installing THAAD.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.
