Crowds filled the streets of the Iraqi Kurdistan capital, rallying ahead of an independence vote this month. While some were waving the flag of Israel, which backs the Kurds’ aspirations, Baghdad says it won’t allow the creation of a “second Israel.”

Ok, Baltic states, come back fast, you have not earned your independence yet, get back to work, the sun is still high...

The Western prosperity is a result of not some shining democratic ideas but of centuries-long robbery and artificial chaos and instability in the rest of the World.
Divide and rule - the old principle of colonialism, to make minority of Tutsi to help the Britts to rule Hutu majority, Sunni minority over Shia majority in Iraq, Bahrain, Alawites in Syria over Sunni majority etc.
The West is responsible for the most bloody ethnic and religeous conflicts in the 3d World, which makes money flee to the save heaven of Western banks even after official decolonization...

What have been happening in Syria is not a war yet, the Big War is just coming - Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Russia vs. Kurds, Israel, USA - partially as open war between states and partially (in USA and Russia parts) proxi.
The major reconfiguration of the borders in the Middle East has almost been averted by Russia in Syria, but Israel with American hands seem to still be eager to return the Middle east into a bloody mess of redrawing borders. Which will sink Europe with new waves of millions of refugees - just to make Israel dominate the region directly, not via the US. For Israel to become a regional power having its own satellites.... Though I'm not sure it will make life safer for Israel...

That ^^^ is a good point. The Kurds are not European immigrants, they have been where they are since forever. Saladin was a Kurd I believe. The comparison with Israel is ridiculous.

it's not comparison, it's a reference to the political incline.
since Kurds take away big chunks of Iran, Iraq and Syria becoming independent it makes them natural foe for Arabs and a junior satellite of Israel.

The main question is still Turkey which is both a NATO member but for which an independent Iraqi Kurdistan means immediate or postponed desintegration of Turkey itself.

It means independent Kurdustan may lead to strategic, tectonic changes in the ME finally and ultimately shifting Turkey from formally a EU-membership seeker (it's another almost broken tie to the West) and an active NATO member (i.e. anti-Russian) into a Russian and Iranian ally and an active enemy of Israel, while not long ago Turkey was very friendly to Israel, maybe the most friendly in the region. I don's see how the US itself benefits fron such a development, but who cares if Israel wants so.
And Kurdistan needs access to the World, it is surrounded, literally landlocked by its deadly enemies.
It makes me see an Israeli-American long term plan in US occupation of Southern Syria, adjacent to Israel, and in rush of Kurds southwards along Euthratus far outside of their ethnic territory.
There may be another war with US and Israeli involvement against Syria, Iran, Iraq and Turkey for creation of a corridor from Kurdistan to Israel. As the worst case scenario, I suppose the US will first press Turkey and Iraq to accept their desintegration peacefully :) Who knows, maybe the US will succeed.
As well it will not develop immediately, first Iraqi Kurdistan must be established and survive, then Assad must cleanse ISIS and moderate US-fed terrorists, and only then it will be Syrian Kurds' turn. Unless the US pushes Kurds to the South, to US-controlled At-Tanf right now...

All this is a major escalation, if Russia was not involved the US and Israel would have done it by now already.
But simultaneous conflicts with nuclear Russia, nuclear North Korea and quiet conflict with China and now Turkey, Iran and Iraq - Trump faces quite a challenge, the US has lost all wars it led for the last 15 years and now 2 more major ones are coming.. hmm... This is exactly what Western economy needs while balancing on the brink of a major collapse and final deprivation of its dominance... Especially Europe must be happy to accept new millions of refugees.
Putting the Western allies doggystile for sake of an Israeli quest to not be alone in this hostile Muddle East, where Zionist fanatics forced poor Jews into.... The US can be only felt pity of, poor ones over there, you have quite a task not to get hemmoroid decease lifting such weighs.... :)

I'm starting worrying about you, maybe you have been already compromised if suddenly some other partiotic CIA agents saw our private (between me and George) correspondence on our (you and me) KGB mission on influencing American elections and temporarilly preferred to give you up to the authorities instead of inevitably come to me to be recruited to serve Mother Russia... :)
George, I hope you kept our secret? :)

as I said ^^^ it seems a major war is coming to the Middle East, maybe it is to collude with US-CHINA CONFLICT over North Korea to become WWIII...
