PR's blackout is the longest in U.S. history, no running water, nonexistent sanitary conditions, little medicine and even less hope.

Trump ignoring PR, but not his Twitter account - is America winning yet?

Nope. :shakeshead:

(CNN)On the same day Puerto Rico's governor celebrated power generation on the island reaching 50% of capacity, the lights went out in the San Juan metro area.

The source of Wednesday's outage was the same main north-south transmission line that failed last Thursday, leaving swaths of the capital without power for hours, officials said.
But the latest interruption appeared to cover a larger area, including Bayamon, Guaynabo, San Juan, Carolina and other municipalities, said Justo González Torres, director of power generation for the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, known as PREPA.

A hick-up in the process my friend. Power was restored to near it's previous capacity within 12 hours. You have to try to understand, they're not just repairing PR's power grid, they're essentially rebuilding it.

Get your head out of the sand, Texas and Florida voted for Trump, PR didn't, that's how it works for the vindictive and politically insecure. PR has become a human rights nightmare for the party that can't shoot straight - and just one more example of a dysfunctional and corrupt GOP.
One has to wonder who's head is actually in the sand when you make these false claims in light of the status report I provided.

So sorry to shatter your cynical delusions, but you really should avail yourself of the facts before shooting your mouth off. Is everything hunky dory? No, but progress is being made and spreading your lies about the situation is not at all helpful.

Puerto Rico is a US territory run by dysfunctional Puerto Rican politicians for dysfunctional Puerto Ricans...Puerto Rico is in a hurricane alley and routinely gets hit by major hurricanes on a intermittent basis...If Puerto Ricans can't be prepared to prevent, fix, repair the damages, it is their failing...They say they need $300 billion in aid from the US government, which is more hurricane aid than the mainland has received during the last 35 years...The Puerto Rican pet hamsters should be granted immediate independence, whether they want it or not............

Involuntary independence for Puerto Rico may not be a simple ^^^ as it sounds. Taking away citizenship from millions of Americans and cancelling American nationality against the wishes of the population would be a toughie in Congress and pretty unlikely in SCOTUS. We might try it first with Alabama just to see how it goes.

The Philippines achieved independence after struggling for it for fifty years. The comment of yours to which I was responding is:

The Philippinos voted for independence, rather than remaining a commonwealth government, only because liberals had not yet established broad pet hamster assistance programs in 1946...To extricate Puerto Ricans from sucking on the Mainland's teat will require real Americans taking unilateral action and slap those babies up the side of their head............. :nana:

US does not need PR. It is a net drain to America. I hope Castro asks for it.

Undocumented Hispanics are far from rare here in New Hampshire. There are many employers in the building and landscape trades who recruit crews from the large Hispanic communities in Lowell and Lawrence, MA. Nashua has its own Hispanics as well as a significant number of Brazilians. Nashua high is some 50% second-language students. Similar clusters are scattered across the Mass and Vermont borders. Their numbers are not well documented as citizenship checks are pretty rare up here. And there are the Canadians... When McDonalds is offering $12/hr and unemployment is below 4% a state like our draws folks from lots of places. Illegal Hispanics are more mobile as a workforce than most.

You're right about that. Our only drug gang activity seems to be in Manchester. I don't claim my town -- which by the way is the largest in all of New England in size -- is typical. Our best restaurants are far away but our mountains are beautiful and our streams and rivers are pure enough to drink. It gets cold in winter but not so hot in summer than it kills people. Global warming and rising oceans are less of a concern here than pretty much any other state. God forbid Mr. Kim decides to launch a nuclear strike, but Norther NH is not likely to be high on the target list. It is quiet and stable here, which is why I have chosen to live here most of my life. I have never locked my car or my house. Have you?
