Synthetic THC is safer than actual weed, according to the DEA; Seriously ?

The DEA has officially decided that a notorious fentanyl manufacturer’s synthetic marijuana product is safer and more medically valuable than actual weed.

In an announcement posted Wednesday in the Federal Register, the DEA announced that the drug Syndros, a liquid form of synthetic THC, will be classified as a Schedule II controlled substance, meaning it can be legally prescribed by doctors. Meanwhile, regular marijuana will continue to be listed alongside heroin in the more restrictive Schedule I category, which is reserved for drugs that have “no currently accepted medical use” and “a high potential for abuse.”

The FDA has already approved Syndros and the DEA’s final scheduling announcement means Syndros has cleared the final regulatory bar on the way to market.

Pharmaceutical companies are one of the biggest influences in the US economy and, subsequently, in US law. It is no secret that Big Pharma has lobbied against medical (and recreational) marijuana legalization as they stand to lose a substantial amount of money.

States that have already legalized medical cannabis are already seeing the effects: prescription drug usage has decreased by an average of 11 percent.

Pharmaceutical companies own Congress, don’t act surprised. They are as bad as Wall Street

Natural THC or synthetic THC. How is one even in the ballpark with the other?

Its price seems to range in the thousands.

And if a patient is throwing up then they are not going to be able to keep the medication down in this form.

Congress is owned by a lot of industries and corporations, but they didn't have anything directly to do with this
particular case that we're aware of.

A big part of the thrill from marijuana to potheads is that it is illegal...As States increasingly legalize Marijuana, they are taking the thrill away from users.......... :wah:

Yes, there are people that abuse the system. There are people that abuse opioids. That does not preclude the fact that actual patients exist.

Using the "medical model" to help change addicts has always been a resounding failure...You lack knowledge in this issue......... :oyvey

As an advocate and educator for medicinal cannabis I can say unequivocally that my knowledge of the benefits, the drawbacks and contact with actual patients is not lacking.

The use of cannaibs is not a "medical model to help change addicts" it is a treatment that is controlled by the patient and delivered in a wide variety of methods from smoking, to tintures, to rubs, oils, eidbles, sprays, etc... and is used to combat a variety of symptoms from those caused by disease to those caused by medications.
