Birth Of An Insurgency: The US-Israeli “Secret Deal” To Manipulate Protests In Iran
Quote:

With the Trump and Netanyahu administrations now working in lockstep, U.S.-Israeli hostility towards Iran has now ripened into a plan to repeat what befell Syria over six years ago – the hijacking of minor protests and their transformation into the cover for a foreign-funded insurgency intent on toppling Iran’s elected government.

Iran protests: General declares 'sedition' defeated
Quote:

The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards has declared the defeat of the "sedition" in the country, referring to a wave of anti-government protests.

Maj Gen Mohammad Ali Jafari made the announcement as tens of thousands of people attended pro-government rallies called to counter the unrest.

It began last Thursday in the city of Mashhad and has seen 21 people killed.

The protests were initially against price rises and corruption, but turned to wider anti-government sentiment.

They have been the largest since the disputed 2009 presidential election.

Gen Jafari said the total number of protesters had not exceeded 15,000 nationwide

Your point that, "whereas Ambassador Henry F. Grady, in a telegram to the State Department in July 1951 said, "Mossadegh has the backing of between 95% and 98% backing of the people in this country" is noteworthy because it was submitted in 1951, not 1953. Besides which, how the hell would HE know? Did he speak Farsi? An American with the last name of 'Grady?' Did he commission a polling firm, Gallup perhaps? That simply sounds preposterous.
Well, yes he does speak Farsi:

After Persian language training, he was assigned to the American Consulate in Khorramshahr, Iran, in 1972.

Furthermore, former Secretary of State Colin Powell called Crocker "one of our very best foreign service officers". President George W. Bush called him America's Lawrence of Arabia and noted that General David Petraeus had said that "it was a great honor for me to be his military wingman".

So that seems to have back fired on your G&T, didn't it

Will be back in the rest a little later.

Cheers

Oops, wrong guy - all you Americans look the same to us... - H
Americans spot British by their crooked teeth and occasional bathing.............
Hmmm... Brits perceive the presence of Americans, first because of the loud overbearing voices and then by their ridiculously loud clothing, despite the fact that they have Canadian flags on their backpacks thinking that it disguises their real nationality

How ya doing, Robbie? Hope all is well with you & family. ;-)

Cheers

There's no surprise there, Che - the States did the same thing in 1953; i.e., fomented unrest - the Iranians just can't trust the Axis of Evil (US-Israel-Saudi)

Most Americans know little about Iran. Ever since we lost the Shah as "our guy" in the Middle East, Iran and America have been engaged in a shouting match against each other. Israel's thumb is heavily on the scales of American opinion. Likud has been open in its efforts to provoke a US war against Iran and to prevent any demarche of friendly relations.

Tehran’s Friday prayer leader called on authorities to deal “firmly” with those responsible for igniting over a week of illegal rallies, in which 22 people were killed and more than 1,000 people were arrested, according to Iranian officials.

The woman who removed her hijab, and became the symbol of this uprising, is now in a jail cell. Where are the protests coming from the women's groups in Europe or the US? Does anyone care what happens to her, behind the closed iron bars,...in a jail cell?

Not only the Iranians. Lastly, fomenting unrest seems to be the only US "strategy" in foreign relations...

Some further thoughts on Iran...

The day is fast approaching when both Saudi Arabia AND Israel will be forced to do something about Iran's nuclear ambitions, little different than what the Israeli's did to Saddam Hussein and his nuclear ambitions way back in June of 1981. Remember? Does anyone remember?

Worth the watch....

Agree....History tells us that the Middle East is always primed for a war....

Must be something in their water?....

It's good for their oil prices and let's off a little steam....

Could be why Trump is pushing for the US to become oil sufficient?...
