Agree

Could be an interesting change for Iran....Instability inside Iran....Due to another country's actions....

Karma is coming....
It's an important point here...

I brought this thread back simply because it has even more relevance today. The Iranian people want change; they want freedom. As a result of Trump's decision on Tuesday to cancel the "one man" nuclear pact, without US Senate approval, Iran is being portrayed as a monolith. Everyone hates Trump, everyone hates America. It is simply not true. This thread highlighted some of the massive anti-regime undercurrents within Iran. They, the Iranian people, are back on center stage, back in the headlines. They also have the support of the Saudi's, the UAE and Egyptians. Trump has warned the Iranian government NOT to re-start their nuclear ambitions. The Israeli's have proven that they have "inside" sources as to what is taking place behind closed doors. They know. The papers shown on Israeli television a few weeks back was a total humiliation for the Iranian government. The Mullahs are now shaken, worried as to where all of this could be headed...

So, yesterday, the Iranian military got its clock cleaned by the Israeli Air Force. So, like, where was the vaunted Russian S400 air defense system? Nothing worked. All kaput. One hates to see such a one-sided demonstration of military power. The Mullahs are humiliated, and angry. Will they lash out? Can they afford it?

So, what is going-on in Iran today, this morning? Behind closed doors, EVERYONE in Iran is talking about what happened in Syria. During the first week of August, more sanctions are coming. The economy will grind, and inflation will roar. Everyone knows this. Iran is once again a pariah. The people will feel even more isolated. The young will be frustrated. No travel. No contact with the outside world. No future.

A pressure cooker....

More government protests in Iran today....

..."Deadly protests continue in southern Iran for a second day: 'Streets look war-torn'" ...
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/05/17/deadly-protests-continue-in-southern-iran-for-second-day-streets-look-war-torn.html

Quote:

Deadly protests in the southern Iranian city of Kazerun continued for a second day following the deaths of two protesters Wednesday. Protesters aimed their wrath at the Iranian regime following a decision to split the city of nearly 150,000 into two townships.

“After anti-riot forces were dispatched to the city from Shiraz, the people charged at them and hand-to-hand clashes ensued,” a press release from the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said. NCRI is a coalition of influential Iranian opposition groups.

The protests have left at least two people dead and six others injured.

The NCRI press release said that protesters had set fire to a trailer belonging to regime security forces and that four police vehicles had also been set ablaze. It said that parts of the city looked “war-torn.” It said smoke had filled the air close to the main square following the burning of tires by protesters. It also noted the Internet and mobile phones have been cut off.

Protests, ....all over the country.

Quote:

Heshmat Alavi an Iranian political and rights activist who has been following the protests since they started last December, told Fox News that “the scene we are witnessing in Kazerun is merely one of the many flashpoints in Iran, a powder keg state considered ready to explode at any moment.”

Alavi said more protests have been occurring across the country.

“Reports from a variety of sources are indicating anti-regime rallies and protests throughout the country, staged by people from all walks of life,” he said. “This includes teachers, college students, store-owners and bazaar merchants, credit firm clients seeking their stolen savings.”

Seeking freedom, ....liberty.

When Donald Trump announced the end of Obama's Iran Nuclear Deal the Europeans were outraged. ..Apoplectic.

If you got your news from the BBC, and YOU know who you are, .... ;) , you were told that most European leaders hung together on this one and the Europeans would CONTINUE to have normal business relations with Iran. Yup, that's what you were told.

Wrong!

This is an amazing "behind the scenes story" as to what is actually taking place. This is a fascinating write-up in Oil Price.com:

...."Iranian Oil Production Could Be About To Plunge." .....
By Nick Cunningham - Jun 07, 2018,

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Iranian-Oil-Production-Could-Be-About-To-Plunge.html

Quote:

The European Union has vowed to maintain the Iran nuclear deal despite the U.S. decision to exit, and Brussels has pushed back against Washington’s attempts to penalize European companies from doing business with Iran. However, the early evidence suggests that the EU is struggling to keep the deal alive, as European companies have already begun cutting business ties with the Islamic Republic.

It has only been a few weeks since the Trump administration announced its withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, and we are still several months away from the deadline for when sanctions begin to bite. However, the U.S. Treasury has advised businesses to begin unwinding their business in Iran immediately, and there are more than a few examples that suggest international companies are heeding that advice (or threat).
Still, the exit of European firms is even more significant, not least because European firms had larger plans for Iran than their American counterparts following the signing of the nuclear deal. Total SA is at the top of the list. The French oil giant had a $1 billion deal to develop the latest phase of the South Pars natural gas field, a project it ran with China’s CNPC. Total was the only major western oil company to ink a deal with Iran since the lifting of sanctions more than two years ago. Total is going to hand off its stake in the gas project to CNPC and pull out of Iran.

While the cancellation of promised investment in Iran is painful, a more significant impact will be how U.S. sanctions affect oil production and exports. Already, there are signs that here, too, the Trump administration is having an impact.

Tehran's Grand Bazaar Shut Down as Economic Protests Spread

https://www.bloombergquint.com/business/2018/06/25/tehran-s-grand-bazaar-shut-down-as-economic-protests-spread

..."Illegal trade has continued to persist as people seek sanctuary in foreign currency. Some official news sites reported that the dollar was selling for almost 80,000 rials last week, compared with 60,000 rials in April, but both currency and gold coin markets appeared to welcome the central bank move, according to the semi-official Tasnim News, which cited trade on the unofficial, illegal markets.

The rial is sinking mainly because Iranians fear for their economic future and the fate of the nuclear deal, according to Masoud Gholampour, an analyst at Novin Investment Bank in Tehran. He said people were “panic-buying” foreign currency on the black market." ...

It approximately 30 days the new Iranian sanctions will be imposed. The Iranian populace is seething. The young are restless. Protests all over Iran, on a daily basis. The government is nervous about the darkening economic situation. In early August the new economic sanctions will be announced. Now, the Mullahs are thinking about closing the Straits of Hormuz.
