Why must states required to follow federal law on marriage but not immigration?

Can an honest leftist answer this?

If say, Mississippi refused to honor gay marriage license, leftists demand to lock up that person and withhold federal aid.
But if states refused to comply with immigration law, leftists claim states' right.
Kate Steinle was separated from her family permanently but leftists didn't seem to mind.

Because the ruling class wants gay marriage and cheap labor
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Last I heard, the governor takes an oath to defend this country against domestic and foreign enemies before taking office.

That's a pretty broad charge and a bad comparison.

While immigration laws come from the federal government, which has the sole authority to grant visas, green cards and citizenship, states also have laws that create rules for certain state activities related to immigration. Typically these state laws are related to employment, education, licensing, and state benefits.

So what specifically are you commenting on?

So does the President but he has been absent from carrying it out. Doesn't seem to be a problem for you so what's your beef about it?

This has nothing to do with Trump. You do remember what happened to that city clerk, forgot the state, Kansas, who refused to issue gay marriage license right. Jerry Brown should be behind bars for betraying this country.

You brought up taking and fulfilling the oath of office. So you widened the topic.

I take it we are at the end with the oath road then?

I’m not playing games with you tonight. Illegal immigration is an invasion; those who shelter or profit from these criminal intruders are as morally bankrupt and treasonous as the Vichy collaboraters or the Czech Communist Party following the Soviet occupation.

The end of the road lies where the California Democratic Party is thrown in prison for siding with invaders over the American people.

Quit dodging. If you can't answer admit it.

Both are federal laws. Why the left believe they can cherry pick.

The question is clear.

Two laws, gay marriage and immigration, are federal laws.

Why enforce one but not the other?
