Far right and far left are both convinced of their righteousness, and believe that if only they could get firm control of their parties, then the nation, everything would be great. To the rest of us, this is idiotic. Every successful government and economy runs on compromise and balance, not philosophical purity. In the US we have one fringe that hates government and loves corporations, and another that hates capitalism and thinks government is the answer to everything. Both are wrong. What made America great (it still is btw) was a healthy, regulated but organic economy, with strong public institutions AND thriving entrepreneurship. Balance. The answer to wasteful government is to make it more accountable and efficient, not eliminate it entirely. The answer to unethical businesses is law and appropriate regulation, not socialism. Balance. In both public and private sectors, sound management and decisions based on the best available information produce the best results. Value expert opinion, not spin or populism. Prioritize results, not symbolism and partisanship. Why worry if a policy is labeled "conservative" or "progressive". Will it work? How can it work better? Want to make American even greater? Ignore parties and labels, just go fix something in your local community. Rebuild government from the ground up, with people who work rather than incite. Ignore the angry bloggers and commentators. They're feeding on your outrage and excreting the toxins that have poisoned discourse. They contribute nothing of value, and dumb down every issue for their own gain. As DC used to say "the center will hold", and we'll be better for it. Edited by nNeo, Jan 24 2018, 01:54 PM.

What made America great was the Naturalization Act of 1790, followed by the glorious 1924 Immigration Quota Act. It went downhill when LBJ singed the Hart-Cellad Act. Everything else is superfluous |

Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary. #MAGA #wallsnotwars | |

If the dems weren't so daft as to run Hillary, Trump wouldn't be president. If so many voters weren't mindless TV addicts, Trump wouldn't be president. If bigots weren't so easy to manipulate, Trump wouldn't be president. These could go on... |
